Gandalf the Purple Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) (EDIT: Started building a village at the bottom of the page.)Hello everyone, first of all I could not figure out how to deeplink, so I added links (sorry ) Anyway, this is my first MOC, so the MOC itself isn't very good and neither is the photography. Anyway, the MOC is a house in Rohan. Comments and criticism are welcome. The front. Please excuse the junk in the background. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536164 The back. I tried to use multiple brown brick styles to give it the "disorganized cottage" feeling. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536159 The side. It is the same on the other side without the horse. The color of the plates I used for the roof are representing a thatched roof. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536160 Roof opened, I used the Ron Weasley hair for the Rider of Rohan. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536160 The interior. Includes a barrel with a sword and axe, rack with helmet, shield and cape, and a table with 2 cups and a key. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536161 Armed to the tooth! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536168 Attack the Uruk-hai http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=5536168 That's all. Hope you like it. Edited July 16, 2012 by Gandalf the Purple Quote
turtleman2020 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Good start, The roof is very good looking. Quote
purpleparadox Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Hi again! Not bad for a first MOC, not bad at all. I remember my first (on Eurobricks, I mean). It was a small horse and cart. Not saying I'm amazing at MOCing now, but I think I've improved. So, looks like you're off to a promising start! I like the concept...it seems like a cozy place for riders to stop on their long journey. The interior is good, even though you don't have much space for it. Good job, and keep it up! Quote
Deathleech Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) It's a nice little house. My only criticism would to be make it a smidgen bigger! Right now the horse is almost as big as the house, lol. Other than that though it looks like a great start. Btw, some of your links go to the same picture. For instance your attack of the Uruk-hai pic is the same as the armed to the tooth one with the Rohan soldier in all his armor and with weapons and shield. Edited July 15, 2012 by Deathleech Quote
Gandalf the Purple Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Thanks everyone!!! I think I will bricklink a few brown bricks to make it bigger/taller. Quote
Gandalf the Purple Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) (First off, if someone could resize these pictures or something that would be great.) Okay, I have decided to build a small village, not just a house. If someone could rename this topic to Rohan Village WIP I would be grateful. Anyway, I had of spare time to build a very small blacksmith forge, area, thing. I also re-did the interior so it is more of a house and less of a barracks. I hope you like it and as always comments, criticism and advice are welcome. The full village so far: The new interior, sorry about the lighting. It has a fireplace, and a small table with a chicken and a women cutting it. Another look at the interior: Birds eye of the blacksmith area WIP, has a forge for the blacksmith to make the next sword, raw iron in one barrel and two finished swords in the other. Another view of the blacksmith: The figures. I mixed and matched heads, arms, torsos, etc to make them. I hope you like it. More updates soon. Edited July 16, 2012 by Gandalf the Purple Quote
LauraC Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Great little moc! Love all the detail inside the house, and the cat chasing the mouse! Look forward to seeing how your village progresses! Quote
