agrof Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Hi All! I just liked the shape of the Sluban Merkava, and i ordered one. During the build i was a bit dissapointed due to the lot unused space - and to make it more serious, i decided to pimp it up. Here is the result, enjoy! For bigger details click here. So, this was my trip with Sluban, now back to Lego business. Quote
Ralph_S Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I don't know what changes you made, as I don't know the original set. It's not a bad-looking tank, but was putting the engine in the back your idea? The reason I ask is that the Merkava is an unusual tank, with the engine actually mounted in the front. Cheers, Ralph Quote
agrof Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Thanks! Actually the base of the chassis with the tracks and the very base of the turret remained and extended. Since i am not a military type (I just like machines...), i don't know the proper types of the tanks, once i saw on Discovery the Abrams tank episode - there was the engine in the back. I just changed it according to my taste, so any match with the reality is pure accident. Please do not search for professional touches in it. If anyone is interested in the BI of the original set, here You are: My link Scroll down to the description of the article. Yes, the original design was made by Oxford, and then Sluban "took it over"... Glad to see a comment from such a famous builder! Bye! Edited July 15, 2012 by agrof Quote
