Yes, I meant Hulk 3, since it will be the third modern live-action Hulk movie. Sure, the other movies are not connected by name, but they are supposed to be a continuation of each other, hence the references in each movie to their former movie.

[Geek mode activated] Actually the Incredible Hulk and the 2003 Hulk are not in anyway linked, they chose to forgo a full new movie dedicated to the origin as they saw no need, and therefore relegated it to the opening credits. The two films are meant to be completely different continuities, and while some have seen links there it was not the filmmakers' intention :classic: [/Geek mode]

I doubt TLG would go through all the trouble just to do that, but wouldn't it be cheaper to Bricklink the parts instead?

On a unrelated note, I got a look at the Batman Visual Dictionary and on the design pages there were preliminary models of some kind of Mr. Freeze Sled, Invisible Jet (Wonder Woman) and a phone booth for Superman. Granted they're still preliminary models but could we be seeing some kind of Daily Planet? *oh2*

It would be amazing to get an Invisible Jet made out only from transparent bricks :cry_happy:

I think the majority of it was transparent but the plates and were white :hmpf_bad:

But above it was a picture of Bane's drill with two Bionicle fists instead of a drill so a lot could change :cry_happy:

Hi all. Very pleased to find a site that caters exclusively to what (I hope) will be a major new distraction of my time and money!

I'm an extremely green newbie to the whole world of AFOL. I have decided I want to concentrate on Minifigures to begin with and specialise in superheroes/comic book figures within that genre (used to be a job for me). So far I have accumulated Lex Luthor and the Batman and Jetski set. Now I have to decide my next step.

Am I right in assuming that superhero minifigs only come in sets (as opposed to the non-licensed figures)? Is there any way to obtain the figures individually? If sets are the only route I can see this hobby becoming expensive very quickly!

Thanks for your time and forgive any basic newbie assumptions. I hope this will be fun.

Most licensed minifigs will only be in some form of building set. In the case of most (but not all) licenses Lego runs into the conflict of their construction toy licenses vs someone else's action figure license. (ie Star Wars and Hasbro). So they typically don't sell just figures. The major exceptions are promotional sets, such as the Lex Luther one or the Comic Con figs, or small retail poly bags like the Jetski orhe Thor or Hawkeye ones.

You can pretty easily find single minifigs for purchase on Bricklink. A site dedicated to buying and selling Lego parts.

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated.

What you say makes a lot of sense. This must be why I saw the Superman minfig selling on eBay for nearly £14!

Here is the link to Bricklink where you will be able to find single minifigures to buy. You will be able to see that since some figs are rarer than others, or in more expensive sets, they can cost a lot of $$$. If you are just starting out I would probably also suggest you start at Bricklink if you really only want the minifigures, or look into some sales in your area to see if you can get the actual sets for cheaper.

In the Rumors and Discussion 2012 thread someone just posted a video that shows some pages from the visual dictionary. I couldn't find any invisible jet though :hmpf_bad:

I won't be holding my breathe on that set to actually be made, but that doesn't mean I'm against seeing pictures

Honestly, if the concept art is in the visual dictionary I don't think that they are planning on making that set (anymore, if they were), at least not any time soon.

Maybe because it's invicible?

That's what happened with the concept art of Malfoy's Manor in the HP Visual Dictionary, it never got made :hmpf_bad:

I've merged your thread with this one here. It just wasn't a topic that stood on its own.

At this point LEGO itself does not sell the minifigs separately. Your best bet is Bricklink for individual figures or seeing if you can snag a deal on Ebay.

There was a concept art? Could you please tell me what page to find it.

Just realized that the new CM 8 Lederhosen guy has nice printed boots! Gives me hope for some of our superheroes in the future

He's not the first. I remember the Footballer/Soccer Player from series 4, which came out before the Super Heroes line, had shoes. I still think that they'll only do it for characters who "need" them. While Batman, Superman, Captain America, and the likes at least have tights over their feet, poor Wonder Woman would be barefoot. :sceptic:

I'm fine without boots personally. I wouldn't say it ruins the classic minifigure design, but it doesn't feel as much like a minifigure to me. :look:

I agree, I don't think that boots are necessary.

On some figs, maybe. Others, like Spider-Man, could use SOMETHING to break up too much of one color on it.

Perhaps red hips and/or a red torso like the old, perfectly balanced Spidey figure? Boot printing isn't really necessary, and shouldn't be used to fix a bad-looking figure. on Wonder-Woman, it makes sense, but any other time I think the main parts of the figure have to be in colors that make a nice look overall, even before printing.

I got the Visual Dictionary from Forbidden planet in London yesterday and am very happy with it! Lots of clear photos and some nice behind the scenes stuff! Interestingly, they keep the minifigures behind the till, which is nice. Oh and Electro suit Batman is awesome by the way!

Anywho, for those who can't get hold of it yet. Here's the sketch models for Wonderwomans Jet and Banes drill.

One of the designers also mentions The Flash as being a character that would work well in Lego, and I've heard DC has a high priority for a Flash movie, so my favourite scarlet speedster may yet be on the cards!

There is also a nice couple of sections at the back of the book for the computer games.
