Pardon my ignorance but can you simply paint pieces with chrome spray paint or are they dipped or manufactured? I see you purchased yours though BL but I doubt anyone in Australia is chroming parts so I wondered if it can be done DIY style? Quote

Try to ask some auto tuning services, the only reason I ordered from BL is that in Russia it costs about 15dollars to chrome one part, I don`t know about Australia. The best parts come from Bricks4all.nl, i use them too. The most shiny and true chrome (metal). No spray paint or any other crap, but truly metal plated. The only challenge is the chrome layer which makes tight fits Quote

Do the parts snap together as normal? or do you have to scratch out the extra layer before they go together? I'm assuming they would be prone to chipping and flaking if you scratched them though? Paul Boratko Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) I have been with 4 different Electroplating Chrome companies here in the United States and in my opinion my current guy who does the chemical spray on chrome has the best overall quality for my wheels, plus I can get them color tinted... I actually just got a batch of 40 in today for various people all over the world... But I think for regular Lego elements, electroplating my be the way to go as the plating can be controlled as to where you want it... Edited July 17, 2012 by Paul Boratko Quote

The company that I use can chrome plate anything including glass and fabric... Quote
