The Fezter Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) The Space Marines from the Series 7 CMF really re-ignited my passion for sci-fi. I have a real thing for aircraft, so it only seemed right that I design some craft for my little squadron of Marines. First up is a single pilot fast response unit. The design is built around the helicopter from the current Batwing set, with some more inspiration coming from the Alien Conquest Jetcopter, mainly the winged machine guns at the rear. I played with the use of rotors for the engines, but they looked so out of scale that I reverted the design back to jets. Front view Side view Top view Quarter view Next up is the main response unit. It's a large troop carrying craft for those big situations any Space Marine could face. This one is very much a MOC, I must be honest that I don't like the look of the back, will most definitely be getting a redesign very soon. However, on to the pictures... I love the chunky militaristic aesthetic they have Anyways, both of these MOCs are excelsior, but the top of the second one looks a little flat. Change that, and you have two perfect ships I hope to see more from you Quote

DarthNick Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I like the first one better as well (the FRU). It has a much cleaner look to it. What I like least about the MRU is the color blocking. It's just a bit too messy looking for my taste. Another thing I don't like is the exposed seats. If you could find a nice way to cover them up, I think it would add a lot to the build. Quote
