I just wanted to share the extra details I added to the official set to make it more movie accurate.

My biggest complaint was that they left out the entrance to the caves, so I added a the entrance outline to the second wall. Also I added some of the mountain out line that helms was built into.

My next addition is turning that useless room they included into the glittering caves.

What additions have you guys made to your hems deep?

Helm's Deep is a hard set to design, unless of course you want to make a mountain out of LEGO bricks. I'm not a huge fan of the set because of the lack of 'the mountain.' There are so many other sets that could have been done in the LOTR theme. I like your ideas though.

Nice work with the entrance to the caves. Exactly what i'm planning to do. I also like the rohan soldiers you created to make the rohans a little more of a rag tag army.

I like your additions, although I think the throne room included in the actual set is really nice.

I agree, I like the throne room. My only suggestion would be start building the mountain back several more pegs so you can keep the room. Other than that it looks nice.

Nice mods. I like the orc with the hair standing on the rock - just like in the film. Yes, it's a set that begs to be moded and expanded. I would like to raise the outer wall by adding another row of dark grey rock bricks. Then inside the gate, instead of having it slope back down to ground level, I'd like to embed a 32x16 baseplate to raise the floor (using Derfel's landscaping technique) then place the inner keep on that raised baseplate. This would solve the 'inner keep looks too low' problem, and allow you to build a more detailed interior. Oh, and I'd also like to widen the main gate and causeway from 6 to 8 bricks wide (using a rounds and 2's technique for the curve).... Oh to have the time and the bricks.
