"Sorrow, I give you permission to proceed with hiring anyone else that you deem necessary. Or do you think thats enough?"

Posted

"All five of you head down to the residential corridor, 5 down, 2 left."

You mean 4? The farmers go down to the houses, confused. They can't really harvest any materials over here.

"I believe we could hire guards. Is Jonothan helping us? And if so, what does he do?"

QM Note: No. He's just an NPC.

OOC: 5: I have Patricia, unless she is somehwere else. also, i'm pretty sure that we want to amass our forces before we build any siege weapons, but that would be Flare's jurisdiction.

"Well, what do you say we find some guards to hire?"

Oh, that's right. New map:

"Guards, if we made you a riot shield of sorts out of wood, would you be able to last longer in battle?"

I turn to my party members.

"Does hiring 6 or 7 sound good? we may need to hire more or less, depending on whether or not the riot shield would increase their durability."

You watch the ranks of your rebel army swell! 8 Charis guards join the party! They currently have no riot shields, as you farmers haven't started gathering materials. Where do you place them?

QM Note: Patricia and Lucy aren't in the party list, since they can't fight.

I turn to one of our hires.

"Would you kindly send message to our farmers in the residentail district? I want them to head to the forest, 7 up, 1 left. I then want all of you to set up a perimeter around them while they gather materials - to make sure the fantome doesn't throw a wrench in our plans."

"Fellow Resistance Fighter, it's 1 PM now, and we obliterated that forest, we'll have quite a bit of wood now. You mentioned something about riot shields? Please command us on the specifications and how to build one."

charisguard.png

"Sir! The recent activity is getting the Fantome Croise suspicious, he sent out a patrol of 3 Dark Croise's, luckily they are going the wrong direction... For now."

"Thank you, friend. I have some specifics in midn, but there is one pivotal thing in the design: Do any of the trees here have sticky sap in them?"

I turn to the party.

"Shall we take on the Croises?"

farmer.png

"The trees have sap, I'm not sure how sticky it is. Maybe if you told me what you have in mind, it could help."

I take a twig from their pile of lumber, drawing a schematic on the soft dirt at our feet.

2ucPK.png

"Alow me to elaborate on this awful little doodle of mine. Step one: get four medium thickness logs (A) and 2 long sticks (B). make holes in the tops and bottoms of all A logs.

Step 2: Puncture a tree (you can borrow my longsword for this) to get the weapon coated in sap. Spread it across the B pieces.

Step 3: Line up all the A pieces. Feed the now-sappy B pieces through the holes you made in step one.

Step 4: Leave em' in the sun. The sun will make the sap harden, binding it.

Step 5: Make an eye-level eye-slit. Repeat steps 1-5 for every guard."

With that, I hand the peasant my longsword.

"Think you could do it? You can draw sap from the Forest that is 4 down from here - just the sap, though. I don't want you obliterating all the trees!"

Posted

Very nice! Sorrow as gained a level of experience!

farmer.png

"Sir, we can just use the tree sap from the ones we just cut."

You make the shields, the Guards can now last another round in battle!

charisguard.png

"Benji, Lycan, Sorrow, the Croise patrol is coming closer. Luckily, the patrol has no archers, a long ranged weapon may attack those up to 3 squares away. Firing into a building/window reduces your chances of hitting."

map7.jpg

QM Note: Since I can feel the fight getting closer, I'll just go into the rules.

Firing long ranged weapons into buildings or windows:

1- Critical Hit

2- Hit

3- Miss

4- Miss

5- Damage

5- Damage

Movement and Combat:

Each unit can move 2 squares, and attack.

Each time a unit is next to an enemy, that counts as a round in combat. So if your guard is adjacent to an enemy, the enemy loses 3 health, but your guard's health decreases as well.

Let me know if you have any questions. Also, I control the enemy, using the same rules.

"Your drawing skills are worth as much as bird dung, but the idea behind it was decent. I'll give you that much. I've never seen such a relistic depiction of a sun! :sarcasm:

"Thank you, my cynical alter-ego."

"Wonderful. We may be able to optimize these later with the stakes I had planned.

Benji, if I may state a suggestion, I suggest you and lycan head left 1. You can snipe the Croise in the back with your bow without a building hampering you there, and I should be able to handle Mr. Mcbuckethead head over here. Lycan, please target the remaining Croise.

Oh, and please nab the helemts when you are done with these cretins. I have plans for em' that I need to finalize."

Posted

" I too have an idea. How about using some more sap to stick to some helmets? We would fire catapult with the helmet in and it would hit the Fantome croise troops and make them slow? After this battle I volunteer to train some guards."

Posted

QM Note: Sorry everyone. The battle might not be up today, but tomorrow morning. I need to add in some stuff on Photoshop so you guys can keep track of the enemies later, as it will get more complicated, also, it will help controlling your units. It's probably going to take all night, and Photoshop with 30 layers is kind of difficult.:sceptic: Thanks.

Posted (edited)

Ok. Tell me if you have any questions. I just worked the hardest night I ever had in Heroica. Also, just say which letter you want to attack this time.

Benji vs. Croise Marauder B- Hit

Lycan vs. Croise Marauder C- Damage

Maruader B vs. Benji- Critical Hit (Benji’s favor)

Croise Marauder D vs. Benji- Special Damage (Croise’s favor)

Croise Marauder A vs. Sorrow- Miss

You realize these croise's aren't just normal ones, they're super strong ones. Benji shoots 1 in the chest for 28 damage. Lycan, not realizing it was a strong one, gets KO'd. The marauder B continues at Benji, but Benji shoots again, in the head. Killing the Croise. But another Croise catches Benji surprised, making him lose 20 damage. (but reduced to 10 from Benji's assumed Back row.) Croise A, which is a disguised one in a hood, swings at Sorrow, but misses.

map8.jpg

Charis guards 1 (a) 2 (b) and 8 (h) both lose 1 round of health, but damage the respective enemies.

QM Note: Sorry, Croise B on the map should be dead, act like he's not their. I have to run upstairs to PS, edit the map, run back to this computer to run the battle, but I forget which enemy is which, run back up, and it goes on and on. Also please ask questions if this is confusing!

Party Leader, choose the order of action.

All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking.

Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone has acted.
