Ecclesiastes Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Selfportrait ((Although I've build this a while ago. I still want to share it here on eurbricks, because I think a lot of us think/dream like this! )) Someone who interviewed me as an afol for his finals at the university also asked me to make a "self portrait" in lego. So how do you see yourself as an afol in lego. It's not too complicated because he had to build it himself for an exposition! I went for me dreaming about large castle projects. As I'm preparing for legoworld and builing for Guilds of Historica. And it shows my room, lego everywhere. Even on the bed so I have to sleep on the floor... Yes that happens sometimes. Some credits for this idea go to my friend Tafol Photo with his build, thanks mate: Edited July 1, 2012 by Ecclesiastes Quote
Roger Rabbit Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 That's brilliant and a great idea. Good luck with all the future builds and hope you don't have to spend too many more nights sleeping on the floor. Quote
TAFOL Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) I like that you, unlike me, have build this MOC rather simple. I agree with the rest of the comments that your build looks funny, yet looks elegant and brilliant as it is. I especially like that you've created a dream with these pieces as it really does the job of representing a 'dream'. Good job! I too had an interview with the same person, whose forum name is k4rp, though I don't know where to read that interview. Maybe I should send him a PM about it sometime... Oh, and thanks for the credits. I really appreciate that. Edited July 2, 2012 by TAFOL Quote
HawkLord Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 When I read the title, I thought this would be a mosiac piece, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Nice job, funny stuff. Quote
WhiteFang Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 And, I thank you for sharing with us in Eurobricks. This MOC simply put a smile on my face and I am sure at times, there are dreams like this when we are sleeping. Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks for the comments guys, I'll try to get the interview. But it may take a while! Quote
Rook Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Ah it’s so true! Except I was dreaming of tornados last night. :/ Quote
LEGO Historian Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 That first image reminds me a lot of one of the very first LEGO sets... the 1300 and 1301 "Mosaik" sets of 1955. They were only sold in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and were so unpopular that TLG discontinued them by 1956. Quote
