Artifex Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Hi there! What's the best place to buy Lego in London? I know there's an official Lego Store at the Bluewater shopping centre, but is there a store just as good closer to London? Or in London? And are the prices there fair? Hamleys is not usually the place with the best prices. Quote
Roger Rabbit Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 There's Lego Stores in both of the London Westfield shopping centres. Westfield London is in Shepherd's Bush (nearest station is unsurprisingly Shepherd's Bush) and Westfield Stratford is near the Olympic Park (nearest station Stratford). Quote
Artifex Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) Thanks! Is it just like every other Lego store? I mean, there's no trouble finding Lego exclusive sets and most (all) sets, is there? Sorry if my doubts sound dumb, I'm just trying to find the best store. The Westfield Lego stores are the same size that of Bluewater? EDIT: please don't mind my last post. I just googled the store up and read reviews and watched a couple of videos. Nice place! Edited June 28, 2012 by Artifex Quote
Calv Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 John Lewis in Oxford Street has a good selection of lego at normal prices and a small pick a brick wall. probably the best place in the West End itself. The 2 Westfield lego stores mentioned are both worth a visit as they both have PaB walls, and the selection does vary between both stores. If you do buy PaB from one store, empty the cups into a bag then you have empty cups for the second visit, saving you 75p per cup!! Every little helps!! Hope this helps Calv Quote
kungpo Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 There's also Hamley's on Regent street, although they do tend to be a little more expensive than other retailers. Quote
Miss Kyle Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Not just a little, I think - Hamley's is horribly expensive. I'd go to the Lego stores, and have a hamburger at Byron at Westfield Sheperd's Bush after your shopping! Quote
CamelBoy68 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 and have a hamburger at Byron at Westfield Sheperd's Bush after your shopping! Now that's a quality burger... Quote
Artifex Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks for the nice tips! That hamburger just made me hungry! Quote
Solitary Dark Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I didnt know about the PAB selection at John Lewis on Oxford Street. I will say that of the three London Brand stores the Westfield Shepherd's Bush One is probably the best stocked in terms's of 'Good' PAB parts (Of course that's just my opinion) I've been to all 3 over the last few months and only bought small cups at Bluewater and Stratford, but found lots at Westfield, and regularly find Grab bags there, but not at the other two. All three are very good stores though, well stocked with great staff - Brand stores are made great by the staff. If you dobnt see what you are after ask, cos they will try and get it for you. There is also a Toys'R'Us and a John Lewis at Brent Cross - Both have good selections, at standard RRP, so if you're just looking for standard sets, not exclusives, you could head to Brent Cross. There is also 'The Entertainer' there, but most of the time the prices are inflated there, although the often have clearance items also. Just further out of London there are plenty of big shopping Centres but one of the best is Kingston-upon-Thames - there used to be a Brand store here (It's also very close to my home - I was very sad when it closed ) There is a John Lewis and a Bentalls. bentalls is often the first store to get new CMF's and in big numbers - They had nearly 20 boxes of series 7 on day 1, making it a great place to great set. Just my 2 penneth. Quote
