markus1984 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) Hi, So, before going on holiday, i still have completed my Castle diorama. I've already seen some great techniques that I really wanted to transpose themselves, and that is the result inspired by my big role model Derfel Cadarn / Cadarnosaurus Rex more photo`s on flickr Hope you enjoy it greetings markus Edited June 28, 2012 by markus1984 Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 The tower is stunning! The battlements and entry especially It is easy to see DC was your role model, but your build still has its own style. Keep up the good work Quote
Palathadric Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Nice tower. I like the use of the tails. It really gives it a proper "brick" feel. The colouring is also great, and I really like the little wooden roof above the entrance. Quote
MikeyB Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Great tower and a beautiful scene. Everything seems just perfect! Congratulations DC has been a big influence on all of us. He influenced me to start MOC and become a more active poster (I have lurked for years). I started the Derfel Cardarn Appreciation Society as a way consolidate all his tutorials before he put them in a single thread. I have thought about expanding it to include is other builds (which are all great) who know maybe even some "I want be like DC" t-shirts or DCAS stickers! Quote
Artifex Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Wow! Now that's an impressive build! Did you use round studs for the entire interior of the tower structure? Quote
Legonardo Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Well I think you have pretty much nailed castle building! the base is brilliant and so is the tower! great to see you're carrying on the kingdoms spirit Quote
Mencot Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Absolutely just beutiful diodrama . Nice technique on that tower, the landscaping in amazing. Hot shot stuff man Quote

KeepLeft Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 A really great job, you managed to create a great scene which could be too much but the different aspects all work so well together. A lovely construction. Quote
Missing Brick Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Really nice. I liked it so much I decided to take the plunge and bricklink the 500 odd tiles, rounds and bricks-with-stud-on-one-side needed to make my own Derfel tower - about £100 in total. Thanks for the inspiration guys. Quote

Thanks for the inspiration guys. yeah it`s very expensive to build an tower in this type, because the 1x1 Snot are not very cheap Quote
natesroom Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 oh wow...i thought it was just me that couldnt seem to get a good price on the 1x1 snot.... man i cant find them usually less then .10 cents average apiece! Quote

I had the luck and found an action at bricklink, 1.000 piece pack, then I have the piece cost about 0,8 cent. Quote
Bammboso Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Very realistic looking MOC. The tiled tower is amazing! Quote
Missing Brick Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Yeah - love this MOC. My only improvement suggestion would be to make the road and river more curved and diagonal with respect to the lego 90 degree 'grid'. Tricky, but worth it for a more natural looking layout. Quote
