King of Nynrah Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Hi all. I've spent the past few hours browsing the internet for solutions but all of the topics I can find give me different answers. I need to find a way to import an LDD (.lxf) model into Autodesk Maya 2013. I understand the solution has something to do with using LDraw to convert it but I don't understand how. I wouldn't have this problem if I had the EasyBuilder Tool extension for Maya but unfortunately it's not available outside of LEGO headquarters. Any help you could give me on the matter would be much appreciated! Quote
Calabar Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 If I'm not wrong, in the index topic there are some threads dealing with this argument. Did you take a look at those? Quote

Yes, but I can't seem to find a straight answer. The closest topic I can see (converting LDD models to LDraw) says it needs to be rewritten, and I can see why. Plus, it doesn't deal with how to import it to Maya from there. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I don't know how to convert from LDD to LDraw as I've never done it before, but I believe it should be pretty straight forward. If you install LeoCad you can save it to a file-type Maya can read. Quote
