Nuju Metru Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Hey guys, As you may or may not know, I embarked last summer on a project to make my own series of LOTR set MOCs. So far I have completed my "The Fellowship of the Ring" and "The Two Towers" sets. This custom figure is a preview, if you will, of what is up-and-coming: "The Return of the King" sets I am making. Enjoy! Feedback is appreciated. Quote
Percabeth Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Very nice! Did you have to glue the skull on, or does the hat have a stud? And nice use of Underwater Ron! Quote
Nuju Metru Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Very nice! Did you have to glue the skull on, or does the hat have a stud? And nice use of Underwater Ron! I sanded down the top of the hood piece until the stud in a disposable minifig head I was sanding it with was visible. After that hole was made in the hood part, I enlarged it with a circular file so that the neck of the skull could fit snugly between the stud of the head below it and the hood part, and then sanded down the hood a little bit more so that the skull could attach fully onto the bottom head's stud. TheLegoDr Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Nicely done. After googling orc with skull helmet, I can see him now. I just watched the movies a few weeks ago. I guess I don't spot details like that. Quote
