timslegos Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Well that "hooked" feeling will never go away . To practice building, you could build alternative models to the set you have. tim Quote
88high Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Welcome to the world of technic! But beware... It is addictive!!! :P Quote

grum64 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) This is my first ever technic build and all I can say I'm hooked can't wait to get more of these Congratulations. As others have said, be prepared to be addicted. My advice (for what it's worth) is to seek out bargain priced, but complete, second hand sets & equally good priced parts to add to a 'parts bin' to enable you to build your own MOCs. For example, in the last 2 weeks I've bought a set of 4 wheels from the 8466 4x4 for £12, a complete 8466 4x4 with instructions for £15, a complete 8292 Cherry Picker with box/instructions for £20 and an 8109 Flat Bed Truck, again complete with instructions for £28. All prices include delivery. Proof if it were needed that bargains are out there if you spend time looking. Above all, enjoy every minute of your newly found addiction even the frustrating ones & believe me, there will be many but each & every one of them will teach you to be a better builder. This forum has some truly incredible builders (of which sadly, I'm not one) who know exactly what I mean. Edited June 26, 2012 by grum64 Quote
