Purple Rhapsody Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Hi, My name is Terry and I've unexpectedly rediscovered the joy of Lego after accompanying my Lego-mad family on the Inside Tour last week. My wife and 2 sons have lots of models built and proudly displayed and were overjoyed to be going on the Inside Tour - and while on the tour I realised what I'd been missing for the last 35 years since the last model I built (which I can still remember was a helicopter)! So, after a 35 year long dark age I built a really pathetic tree for the Inside Tour building challenge (which the Lego designers on the tour kindly awarded a 'treemendous' award for!), but did get caught up in the joy of building. Since I got home I have built a 'proper' model (just a simple fire engine - model 4208) and I've just received a Millennium Falcon in the post. I'm also planning to build the Piper Aeroplane which I was lucky enough to receive as the limited edition Inside Tour model. So that's my new Lego fixation! A little bit more about me... I'm Scottish by blood but now live in England, I'm forthright and opinionated, and I'm ginger. I work as a computer programmer by day and make music as a hobby by night (my musical alter ego is Purple Rhapsody hence the username). Cheers, Terry. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Welcome to Eurobricks Purple Rhapsody. I'm so glad you got back into Lego. You are so lucky that you got the Piper Aeroplane from the inside tour. Do you mind doing a review in your spare time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy our community. Quote
purpleparadox Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 I like the username- purple is the best! (see my username as well. ) I'm jealous of that set you've got, do a review! And music is one of my main interests too. See ya around! Quote
Big Cam Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Welcome to the forum! Glad you got the registration problem figured out. Quote
Purple Rhapsody Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Thanks everyone for the welcome. Do you need to have been here a certain amount of time or have a minimum post count before submitting reviews? I've read a couple of the more recent reviews on the forums and would be happy to do a review of the Piper model. I should really check with Lego to ensure that because as it's such a limited edition that is only given to Inside Tour participants it'll be okay to do a public review of it... Cheers, Terry. Quote
Rook Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Man talking about taking one long vacation! O.o Welcome back. Quote
Pandora Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Welcome back to LEGO, and welcome to Eurobricks Purple Rhapsody. I should really check with Lego to ensure that because as it's such a limited edition that is only given to Inside Tour participants it'll be okay to do a public review of it... Reviews of inside tour sets have been posted before with no problems, however I can understand your concern and it is comendable. Do you need to have been here a certain amount of time or have a minimum post count before submitting reviews? Not at all. All members are free to post reviews, and for those keen on reviewing we have an active Reviewers Academy. It's not compulsory by any means, but I've provided the link in case you're interested. See you around the boards. Quote
