"20 gold to everyone. Well fought all! Since Daxus already received the Combrys, I will hand the Juggernaut's claws to Mizuki and Erik. I would figure that you can use them now before we enter the Death Progg's chamber. Now that the Juggernaut is dead, let's explore the room and go on. Once we come to the Death Progg's chamber we can return and get the venoms from the Toxiproggs and brew the consumables."

"This is the list of recipes, so we don't forget. I've copied it down in my journal. Let's first explore the room though and proceed as I've said earlier."

Erik hacks at the juggernaut for a short time, but soon calms down. He uses the claw on Voltedge.

"I reckon we should listen at each door we come to, before we go through, if we want to find out where the Death Progg is. Assuming he's bigger than that thing was, he'll probably make a lot of noise."

With that, Erik listens at the door that the Juggernaut was guarding.

"I don't suppose we could divert the water from that other room to flow under the door into the Death Progg's room, and I could electrify it with my sword?

Mizuki's dagger is looking fiercer than ever, and Erik's Voltedge crackles with new power. Sifting through the crates and barrels in the narrow room, they find:

The Juggernaut was just guarding a doorway, not a door. Seeing no immediate threat, the party strolls through the frame and into an intersection. To the right, a faint light can be seen. Straight forward, the sound of someone - or something - tapping it's fingers can be heard faintly.

"If you guys don't mind. I'll hold onto the two of them for now. I'm the only one who can use the Grand Tonic and since all of you already have Grand Potions, it is my opinion that we use this to make a Phoenix Essence. Do you all want to go towards the light or the tapping? I say, head to the light!"

Just for role-playing purposes. I have no problem going in the direction of the tapping.

Endgame, are there pictures for us to see, or is there nothing to explore in this new room?

QM note: Just a plain ol' intersection, nothing to explore. As you cannot actually do anything in the direction of the tapping yet, I'll move this along.

At pretzel's suggestion, the party heads in the direction of the faint light.

Small holes dug into the ceiling make several beams of faint light. Several larvae and pupae lay dead, their shells actually bleached by the minimal light and their tails limp on the floor. A sunbleached Progg rambles in the corner.

"Oh god, the light - the light! I was lied to! I was LIED to!! This is not an experiment - this is not an opportunity for evolution! He lied! The patriarch lied!! This is meant to be torture!! "

[Palathadric]

"And here's a lesson to you all. It's better to fight demons with the light of God than with carnal and earthly weapons."

[Endgame]

The sun bleached Progg turns to the monk and startles.

"Oh god - hundreds of you! Why are there so many of you?! All of you! Clones! CLONES!"

A blood vessel violently explodes in the head of the sun bleached Progg due to sensory overload, and a trickle of scarlet blood flows out of his face grid. Searching the corpse of the tortured progg, the party finds...

The Final Key

[Palathadric]

"Ummm...okay, whatever. Thanks for the keys. And most of all, thanks for dying. I hate these devils. The Commerz family will have a lot of cleaning up to do down here. I take a drink of water and then pour it on the key, cleansing it of the blood. Where the devil was this thing hidden anyway?"

I approach the door and test it. If it doesn't open then this must be the key to open it, in which case we return to the toxiproggs after exploring this room.

[Endgame]

QM note: What door?

[Palathadric]

"I thought that was a door behind the progg. My eyes fail me again, it seems. Too much handwriting in the darkness of night. Is there anywhere to go from here? Is there a door to where the tapping was coming from. I failed to see this as well."

[Endgame]

Leaving the room, the party heads to the sound of the typing.

The party finds themselves in the darkest depths of the vault. The color scheme changes from an elegant green to an ominous blue. As they get closer to the tapping, they realize that it was an impatient tapping. Something was waiting for them behind this door...

"This is the door that the *wheeze* toxiproggs said to look out for. Get Proggsbane, and take the consumables you may need. The Death Progg is *wheeze* the most powerful predator. He has NEVER let his prey escape. When you *wheeze* go in there, there may not be a return..."

[Palathadric]

"Alright, fellows. This seems to be it. The final hour. Lets get the venom from those toxiproggs and then brew us some consumables!"

[Tachyon]

"Before we fight, we should eat." Mizuki brings out the last of the food she brought with her, a pack of mini cakes and some bottles of cold tea.

[Endgame]

Heading back to the Toxxiprogg's den, the party finds them looking gleefully over a glass bottle.

"Ah, just in time! We've finished Proggsbane. Remember, It'll only work on the Death Progg himself, so choose carefully who will use it.

Now, we gotta go. We used to live in an empty pocket of earth 165 years ago. It's probbaly heavily repopulated by underground fauna now. And if we tunnel quietly, you know what will be waiting for us there?"

"ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET!"

The Toxxiproggs high-tentacle each other and dive into the earth, quickly gliding through the ground below them. The trivia-triplet larvae quickly jump into the hole left and cover it. All that is left is the bottle.

Proggsbane: Causes the Death Progg's SP to fall by 3 every turn, and deals 5 damage every turn. One use only.

[Palathadric]

"Well, I can't say I'm wishing you devils the best of luck. In fact, to be truthful, I'd have to say just the opposite, but at least we'll take care of the Cheif Devil for you folks. We already slew the Juggernaut. Do you know if the Death Progg has any other Proggs with him in that chamber of his? It would be helpful to know."

I collect the "proggsbane" for now.

"So, who wants this? Erik, perhaps? Mizuki?"

[Myrddyn]

"I can't say I like many of your race, but you guys were decent enough, I guess. Good luck."

Erik turns to Sir.

"Due to the Death Proggs armour, we will probably need to pour it directly down his throat for it to work. In that case, it should go to Daxus, as he does the least damage, aside from you, sir, but you'll probably need to seal it quickly, and the sooner we get it poisoned the better. As for the brewing, once we've made the phoenix essence, we'll have 3 green essences and 2 blue essences left. I think we should make a mead for Mizuki, that'd leave us on 2 green and a blue. Dunno what we should make after that, though.

[Endgame]

You realize that one person would have to take their turn to use Proggsbane on the Death Progg. You're guaranteed to get the poison down his throat, but you wouldn't stop his free hit.

[Palathadric]

"Who do you all think should be the one to take the progg's bane? I would take it, but I think I should use the first round to attempt to seal him."

[Myrddyn]

"I think we should do our brewing first, as we can always chose who uses the Proggsbane later. Does anyone object to making a phoenix essence, a mead for Mizuki, and smelling salts for Sir? Mizuki can hit the enemy about as hard as me, and she has a nostrum and smelling salts to add to that. We could all benefit from Sir being able to heal two of us each round, and that would also let him use the poison on the Death Progg, which would free up Daxus to do some more damage as well."

[Endgame]

The party simply has to post a list, and I'll do the brewing... assuming you have enough items for the chosen recipes.

[Myrddyn]

"Well, due to the lack of objections, we will make:

1 Mead,

1 Phoenix Essence,

1 Smelling Salts,

Using Sir Pretzels Grand potion, and one of my potions. The other ingredients can come from anywhere."

"I'll just go grab those bits from your cart, if that's ok with you, Sir?"

Erik says, however he does not give Monk Pretzel a chance to reply, before reaching in and grabbing the ingredients. At the same time, he tries to take Pretzels Holy Bomb, and hand it to Punii.

(@ Pathaldric: I don't see any disadvantage to Punii having all the bombs, and this way you can stay in character, but stop/yell at Erik if you disagree.)

[Endgame]

The party heads back to the Brewing Barrel. Wirth Monk Pretzel reading off the recipes, Mizuki stirring, Erik throwing the ingredients in the barrel, and Daxus bottling the goods, they vigorously brew:

QM Note: Sorry for being inactive yesterday: transit was brutal, but I'm back now, mostly. I'm visiting colleges with my brother this afternoon, so during that period of time you can distribute and consume anything you may need for the final battle... which should be starting tonight! Myrddn, feel free to make Daxus use one or two of his consumables. Normally I wouldn't allow it, but this is the final battle: I am not kidding when I say you'll need it.
