SalvoBrick Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Hello everybody! :) Finally, after three years, I've moved to a new apartment, with enough space to put all my modular town. It still needs some work, but it's a matter of week and it will be finished :) (obviously for a while, the fun with Lego is that anything isn't really finished... ;) ) For now, enjoy a preview of what I'm working on... Seeya soon! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Looking good! Pretty large layout, looking forward to seeing it done and some detail pics Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Wonderful w-i-p 'SalvoBrick', keep going it's looking great. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 It really is looking great SalvoBrick. I always loved how you created modulars from the creator line. I can't wait to see it finished. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Like it! I like that you didn't stick to the 3 story building type. Great variation with your buildings. I will definitely keep tabs on this and can't wait for it to be finished. Great start. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Second preview. Genelal layout finished, needs railroad and some modifications, then the details Quote
KotZ Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Very cool! Everything seems very spacious and organized, though that could change soon, I bet Are you going to add cars long with the train? Quote
slovakiasteph Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 I like this! Your white building with the red trim and balcony is cool. I also like the train station-- looks like the one in Slovakia where I visit! Quote
SalvoBrick Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 Almost finished I'll add a few more details later, then I'll add vehicles and minifigs. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 This is coming along nicely SalvoBrick. The layout still has a classic feel like your old layout, but now in modular format which I really like. Quote
LAKAbricks Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Really nice layout, SalvoBrick. I like your modular buildings. Though I miss some corner buildings with facades on two sides. Especially a building in front of the railway station could very be inspired by the Cafe Corner and serve as a local hotel and cafe. I can't wait to see the "finished" result of your town with interior and life in the streets. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) I think that's finished for this moment. Added _some_ of the MOCs and vehicles I have, and it's too "crowded" to me... Anyway, here some pictures: Town2012/town2012new_01 General overview Town2012/town2012new_03 "corner cafè" and traffic lights Town2012/town2012new_04 Two stations: service station and train station Town2012/town2012new_06 Former pizzeria, now italian restaurant Town2012/town2012new_09 Main street Town2012/town2012new_11 Train station from the tracks side More pictures soon Edited June 29, 2012 by Phred Changed over-sized images to deep-links. 800X600 max! -Phred Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 One word......AWESOME ! Though shouldn't that ESSO sign be on the side of the service station ? That two storey hardware store....was that once a single storey that I saw years ago on Brickshelf ? I wait for more photos 'SalvoBrick'......Brick On ! Quote
SalvoBrick Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 That two storey hardware store....was that once a single storey that I saw years ago on Brickshelf ? I wait for more photos 'SalvoBrick'......Brick On ! Yes, it's that Some of the buildings are "updated" versions of old ones: the barber's, the blue cafè, the hardware store, the service station. SalvoBrick Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Small pics this time, so no worries about deletion. Like in 2008, I made a small guided tour to my new modular town, so I can show some of the details... So, let's start the tour! Hello, I'm Salvobrick, and this is my new home. It has a pharmacy down, and the neighborhood is full of shops and services Here's a map, so nobody can get lost Here we find a restaurant. Obviously an ITALIAN restaurant Uh-oh, it seems that somebody lost the bus... At the green grocer's we can find the best fruit and vegetables These ladies just did some shopping at the fashion store At the hardware store we can find all we need for... what!? The mail box covers the shop? Damn... Traffic lights make safe crossing the street I can have a good coffee at the blue corner cafe And a tasty pizza too It's important to keep the city clean In front of the police station there's the TV crew, I wonder why... I need to take some cash from the ATM I almost forgot to send a letter. Luckily there is a post office nearby Here we are on the station. There's a lot of people waiting for their train And I mean, a LOT of people, of every kind It seems that somebody ran out of gas... I'd like to have an ice cream... Ouch! And finally a good beer! Hope you enjoyed the tour! Seeya soon with new pictures! Quote
The Blue Brick Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Great little story SalvoBrick. I love all the buildings, which still have that classic feel to it. Great job on the town. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Another update: Hardware store and Taxi garage (changed a few details) Green grocer, restaurant Police station Service station What do you think? Is anyone interested to see the individual modulars in detail? 'Bye! Quote
SilverSpyder Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Those all look really nice. I would love to see more detailed shots of each building. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 To add some variety (and use some grey bricks), I've temporarly replaced one of the modular with a construction site. Backside Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Would love to see some more details. Your town is growing very fast and i have seen some very nice buildings in it. One example is the blue cafe and the pizza retaurant. Hope you can make your town even more beautiful than it is right now. Quote
SalvoBrick Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 The tour continues... more details In this town everybody is working hard. Here there are some road repairs It's important to keep your house clean and repair it My car is small, but I like it, I don't need a bigger car The town is changing fast. There are some places I couldn't recognize after a few days... For example, I didn't remember this construction site... If I want to visit it, I must wear a helmet It's so high here... Hmm, what is this? Uh-oh! Hope you like the tour, more to come Quote
