JackJonespaw Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) So, in my usual lateness for a contest, I came up with doing the eye-shaped "Heart of Gold" from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This was the first spherical thing I've built, and I tried to make it look as much as it does in the movie. I'm not truly happy with the rear, but I suppose it's still recognizable. Here's a comparison pic: Enjoy! Edited June 21, 2012 by JackJonespaw Quote
Hammerstein NWC Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Lovely! and what a great TV series that was. So long and thanks for all the fish! Quote
DraikNova Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 (edited) YAY! GO 42! HYPER HYPER! RESISTANCE IS USELESS! OBSCENE PHRASES FROM H2G2! WHEEE! Now seriously, nice work. BTW, that pic is from the movie version I believe. And go make Marvin. Edited June 21, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
BasOne Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Love the book. Adore the old BBC show. Hate the new movie..... Nice rendition though and well build Quote
Faefrost Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Really really great MOC and model of what is other wise a really really awful ship design. Like others I grew up on the books and the old cheesy BC quality TV series. The Heart of Gold in that always seemed perfect. That new eyeball one just never worked for me. Quote
DraikNova Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Why not make Marvin? What I've been saying for the...let's see...past twelve days . WE NEED MARVIN. NOW. Quote

Gryphon Ink Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Really really great MOC and model of what is other wise a really really awful ship design. Like others I grew up on the books and the old cheesy BC quality TV series. That movie never happened. Not one single thing in it was true to the source. Awful, awful, awful. But yes, a nice MOC, JackJonespaw. Quote
