CM4Sci Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 (edited) So, recently, I started watching the whole Spider-Man movie series and thought "I could remake the old Lego sets from '03.." and so I've decided to! I've done the same thing with Star Wars, in which I have 2 sets done, one currently in progress. I've decided to remake and make new sets from the first Spidey movie, first. This is my remake of 4851 The Origins, in which Spider-Man and Green Goblin..become..them. The set has 251 pieces, and comes with 6 minifigures: Peter Parker, Mary Jane, Harry Osborne, Norman Osborne, Norman (Green Goblin), and a Scientist. Norman would have a double sided head: One with a determined expression, and another with a crazed look. You can change him into either the Goblin or like in the movie, the crazed version. I was going to include the female scientist in the movie, but I thought that'd be too much for such a small $30 set. The Green Goblin room has the feature that was also included in the old set, where you can spin the platform around over and over again! I almost forgot! The set also comes with a fire extinguisher! (Thanks, just2good! It was just too good to forget!) Hope you all like! Suggestions would be appreciated! -Sci Edited June 20, 2012 by CM4S Quote

purpleparadox Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It's a good idea for some MOCs. This one looks pretty neat. The only thing I'd change: it seems a little bit bland. TLG's sets are usually full of stuff to appeal to a kid...so maybe you could add something more. Other than that, I like it! Any plans to brick-build it? Quote
just2good Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Great remake Sci! So far, it looks good. I can really see this becoming a real set. Here's a major feature you forgot to put in it that LEGO puts in most Marvel sets- a fire extinguisher. Edited June 18, 2012 by just2good Quote
Inconspicuous Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 An interesting concept you've come up with! I'm sure anyone who missed the old Spiderman sets and wants a cheaper way to get a hold of them (rather than buying them from Bricklink) will find your work intriguing. I remember owning this set back in the day: despite the fact I had never really seen any Spiderman movies, I enjoyed it regardless. If I recall correctly, the set also included the Spiderman transformation - do you plan on recreating that part too? I'm curious to see what you would come up with! -Inky Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Yes, I do plan on making that part too, why wouldn't I? Also, J2G, I will add the Fire Extingusher, thanks for reminding me, -Sci Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Try not to bump your own post, please. Quote
natesroom Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I'm just wondering if a graphic update to a WIP is considered bumping your own thread? Not being contentious just so i know what is considered appropriate... Quote

Not being contentious just so i know what is considered appropriate... CM4S's post was borderline. Yes, there was a picture but it wasn't much of an update. That's why I gave him a verbal warning instead of doing anything more drastic. There's just not much for anyone to comment on in his update. Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 I can finally announce that the set is complete! First post updated. Opinions would be appreciated! -Sci Quote
just2good Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) Love the finished product! It could very well be a $30 set. The only thing holding it back is the amount of figures (sadly, LEGO usually puts 3-4 figures in a $30 set), but then again, look at the Uruk-Hai Army set... Oh, and the fire extinguisher looks great! Edited June 20, 2012 by just2good Quote

purpleparadox Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I do like it quite a bit! I prefer the Peter Parker half. So...still planning on remaking more sets too? Quote
