jupitergames Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Last week I have seen in a Lego show in Italy a very interesting solution for home exposition of minifigures. Please I'm looking for information about this transparent "tubes" Someone knows them and knows where I could find ? Thank you in advance Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 That is a neat option. I have no idea what those tubes are or where to find them, but it is a neat way to display figures. I would probably do a square/rectangle display with the dates/themes listed instead to stack them easier. Quote
jupitergames Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 I tried looking for these displays with some people I know, one of which has a company that produces corporate gadgets, but nobody knows them and knows where to find them. I hope that someone seeing the photo here on Eurobrick will be able to recognize and understand where you can find and purchase them. Quote
natesroom Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I work in a promotional company but i bet with every dollar those are custom made and there is no "Distributer" for these. It looks like basically they had a frame made then took a sheet of probably 1/16 clear acrylic and formed it for this. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Aren't those used by TLG to display new LEGO sets in non LEGO stores? Quote
badboytje88 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Aren't those used by TLG to display new LEGO sets in non LEGO stores? Yes they are, I got a few from a friend of mine who owns a toy store. Quote
natesroom Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 But i highly doubt that those are available to the general buying public. I guess if your friend who owns a toy store would be kind enough to tell you where he got them from maybe they could make some additional sales. Quote

Just didn't have the english to say it. :D Quote
Shawn Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I was just thinking exactly the same. Just didn't have the english to say it. :D If you go to a plumbing supply or pvc pipe production company, you can purchase clear pvc pipes in most sizes. They are just a little expensive and it may need to be ordered. http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Plexiglass-Cast-Acrylic-Tubing This is just one example and htye go up to 8 inch in pricing. Bilbo Baggins Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 They look awesome for display but they seem to be custom made. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 The only downside that these displays have, for minifigure collectors, is UV exposure. For this reason, I keep my figs away from sunlight. However, I must admit it: I'd love it if I could have my figs displayed like this (and if my collection was more complete ) Quote
jupitergames Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Great news guys ! I will try to look for these displays in some important "not Lego" store in Italy such as Toys Center. If I will be able to find a way to purchase them, will be happy also to share information here. Actually I have about 1.200 minifigures closed in some plastic box, but I'm afraid that I can't see them. This could be a very good solution to expose the collection in a limited space. Though i don't think you need them to display your 1.2 minifigs  Quote
