legoboy3998 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks 'TenorPenny' and 'Ferrik' for your kind words, I'm currently working on the decals but have run out of sticker material....hopefully in the next two days I'll have the spare 14 bucks for 20 sheets of 4x6 magic ! What kind of sticker paper do you use LT? is it glossy? I have recently been using Papilio's Inkjet Photo Glossy Adhesive Paper, its quite nice, but just a bit too thick. Sal WFB, WI Quote

They are all owned by The Kroger Co. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks for the comments 'legoboy3998' - I use an Australian made brand from Officeworks (well I think it made in our country ) and 'LCM' for the huge list of Kroger companies - yes I was dumb-founded by the list so I'm going with a simple Kroger as it appears to be the most known to EB members living state-side. Tomorrow I'll have some work done to this.....but still any other suggestions I would be grateful....keep watching ! Quote
The Blue Brick Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 This is looking great LT. I really love the use of the "brick" bricks. They really add a more realistic effect. Quote

Thanks 'TBB', those brick-bricks are my favourite part now to MOC with.....I might make an oil/fluids merchandiser to sit somewhere on the forecourt.....any suggestions ? Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Great use of the brick bricks A very recognizable build (though I guess all yours are ) Quote
-zenn Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Great use of the brick bricks A very recognizable build (though I guess all yours are ) Lovely, it somehow reminds me a bit of those tollgates. I would like to see a abondoned industrial factory building out of those 'brick' bricks, maybe with some grafitti on it. Plant overgrowth etc. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Thanks for the comments '-zenn' and 'soccerkid6', I'll have more detailing done to this today as well as continuing on other US style buildings.....keep watching ! Quote
LEGO Historian Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Very nicely done up Kroger Station indeed!!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 Very nicely done up Kroger Station indeed!!! Thanks 'LEGO Historian' for your kind words, I'm still planning more things for this creation but I also have a problem - which US bank do I build to sit in my US rural town ? Quote
gotoAndLego Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 ...but I also have a problem - which US bank do I build to sit in my US rural town ? for the small town feel, I would go with a Credit Union or Farmers Bank. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 for the small town feel, I would go with a Credit Union or Farmers Bank. A farmers bank......why not we have the same in Oz. Okay, I'll look into it thanks 'gotoAndLego' ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 16, 2012 Author Posted June 16, 2012 Lets see how this fits now after some little adjustments to the three structures. The bank once designed will sit next to the True Value store, still does the the driveway roof on the Kroger gas station need raising up any higher ? Does the flow of structures look okay or not ? I'm a little more up to speed on town in my own state and other parts of Oz I have travelled through, but the USA of course not so. Any advice I will be grateful for, thanks. Farmer's Bank will be early this week coming though I have the BOC project to finally get over the finish line and the mid-year toy sales start....ouch my wallet ! Keep watching everyone ! Quote
LegoJalex Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I really like it now! I think it has the right amount of details and still keep it in the "classic town" style. The blue post box (?) is gorgeous! I think the flow is fine, the only thing I can think of is if it would look better to have something to seperate the Post Office and True Value? So that the white colours doesn't mix, if you know what I mean? Quote

And yes, that is a mail box that also works like a real mail box. Fresh picture update tomorrow....but still keep those suggestions and comments flowing - this tiger needs all the help he can get.
