ACPin Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Found these today at the Bridgewater mall store but didn't buy any. AC
Gryphon Ink Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I knew they would start repackaging these guys eventually. What's the fig in the middle? I can't make it out.
fred67 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Ugggh... beach set makes some sense; random figures in a box doesn't. I don't get the point of it. Q: What do an elf, guy in an ape suit, space villain, fisherman, and mummy all have in common? A: Nothing. Edited June 4, 2012 by fred67
AFOL SF Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Saw these sets at the Hillsdale Mall last Saturday. I wasn't impressed at all and passed on buying any...
Darkdragon Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I saw these at my store last week too. I picked up the beach set because it looks pretty neat and has that cool backdrop in it (I love backdrops!). There's been some talk about this set and hopefully a review soon. The worst thing about these types of sets is it makes me think "why bother" trying to find all the CMF figures when so many things are coming out with the figures. But the beach scene is so cute. Decided against buying the other two, at least at full price. The S3 "set" is pretty lame (here's a discussion about it) with only the Elf and maybe Space Villian being the figures I'd even want. The Presentation Boxes set (here's a great review) has a nice looking semi-classic space fig, but other than that I find the actual design a bit uninspiring.
natesroom Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I missed S1-S4 (which sucks because i pretty much collect castle and pirate ---- Historic) So this is awesome for me and i will probably by 3 or 4 and get the mummy and the elf for lower then buying it on bricklink or ebay
vriverajr3 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 i also missed out on series 1-4 so i will probably pick up both the minifigure sets and skip the display. will be cheaper for the collectible minifigs then getting them somewhere else
Cara Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 If you missed out on those series then I see the appeal. But I have the same problem with these that I do with their minifigure building stations at the LEGO shops (BAM boxes). All the pieces there are from previous CMF series, current they are on series 3 & 4, yet the really wanted one from series 1 and 2 that alot of people missed out on (think zombie/robot/spartan) they never rereleased. I do not get the methodology.
The_Box Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 The Bridgewater store had the Beach set last week when I was there. I had a discussion about the VIP mini-fig set with Lisa, with me mostly complaining about it. A little side note: your flash made the scorpion in the bottom box look silver, which would be really cool but still not awesome enough for me to actually spend $15 on it.

These figs were voted as the most popular CMF's with parts still in production by the members of the Lego VIP club.
fred67 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 These figs were voted as the most popular CMF's with parts still in production by the members of the Lego VIP club. But who wants to pay a premium for all of them? I mean, those are the top five - I would think, if it were an even distribution for example, most people would want only a fifth of what's in the pack.
