martyboy70 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) This week sees the much anticipated start of the 2012 European Championships to break up the couple of months when we football fans are usually deprived of their fix due to it being the close season in most countries here in Europe. This link is to a video from the BBC website recreating some great moments from previous tournaments with commentary from John Motson(IMHO the best commentator ever)and hes even been realised as a Minifig. If like me you love Lego and love football its well worth a watch-I've looked up the real moments on Youtube and they have been recreated incredibly well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18308363 Edited June 2, 2012 by martyboy70 Quote

martyboy70 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Link<- Could it be the same video? Yes thats the one. The bbc site maybe only works for UK IP addresses. I see you are in Italy-sorry that Trezeguets Golden Goal is on there! Quote
The Cobra Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 No problemo. Revenge happened 6 years later. Good video, by the way. Quote
Palathadric Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 No problemo. Revenge happened 6 years later. Good video, by the way. It sure did, although in all honesty, I didn't think either France nor Italy deserved to be in the finals of that cup. France got in with all their 1-0 leads and Italy...well, they were far from their best form, in my opinion. Let's see how the cup this year turns out. I hope for exciting games at least and that teams won't revert to Chelsea's Champion's League tactics. Quote
martyboy70 Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j6klrCQ-TI Thought this might be easier.I am Scottish(we dont qualify for tournaments anymore) but my father is Spanish so I have had a good last 4 years-we have had many underachieving squads over the years but finally in the last Euros and World Cup we seem to be playing to our potential. On the Chelsea thing I view it as a team playing to their own strengths and adapting strategy and formation to frustrate the oppositions star players-it wasnt pretty but it was pretty effective. Palathadric Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) They were lucky, I guess. It wasn't like they defended tremendously. But look at Dortmund. They play agressive football and beat Bayern home and away, I believe, in the Bundesliga. Chelsea have had millions (dare I say, billions) poured into their squad and play in a style that says, "We are the worse team, but we'll try to scrape by and hope that Bayern get unlucky." I find it most disappointing that the crown champions of Europe play a style of football that practically screams, "we know we can't match you in playing so we'll just defend and hope for lucky breaks"...I rest my case. But congratulations to the few players in Chelsea who pulled the others through. Despite him being quite heavily maligned, Cech is still one of their best players. As a Scot watching Gazza turn Colin Hendry inside out hurts but when you see it in Lego you dont mind so much(as a Rangers fan) as he was amazing in his time at Ibrox Quote
