Legonardo Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) When Derfel Cadarn (or Cadarnorius Rex) Made his fool-trom PUV it inspired me to make something space, so here is the first of possibly many to come! Drill is able to move up and down and spin FUNCTIONS: Drill spins/ Moves up and down Cockpit opens/closes Full suspension (that wasn't easy to incorporate it into something so small) C&C welcome and appreciated! enjoy! =Legonardo= Edited June 1, 2012 by Legonardo Davidy Quote
Si-MOCs Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Woh. Very cool! Certainly living up to your name sake. Really well done. That drill function is brilliant. I like the terrain you made too! My only thought is where do the two guys get to sit? they have to walk :( You should totally build more! You have a knack! Quote
Legonardo Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 My only thought is where do the two guys get to sit? they have to walk :( I thought about that, the flaps on either side withe downward-facing orange arrows fold out into seats, so they only have to walk in narrow canyons where there isn't enough space Glad you like it! Algernon Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Great to see Mars Mission getting some love - the theme was underrated, in my opinion. Very unique design you have here, it definitely catches the eye. I like the greebles, but my favorite part is that it has a could-be-a-real-set quality to it. Looks quite nice, something I would probably buy if LEGO had released it. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Great MOC! The terrain is excellent and the vehicle is stunning It's cool that you incorporated seats for the other 2 guys, LEGO tends not put enough seats for the figs that come with the set. Hope to see more from you soon Quote
DraikNova Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I honestly believe this is one of the first Mars Mission Mocs I've seen here. Pretty darn nifty drill, too. Quote
LegoJalex Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Very cool! I like that there are so many details on the vehicle. Quote
daz Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Do you have a picture of the suspension? Nice model! Quote
zero1312 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Very nice build! very creative way of building the drill. Quote
rongYIREN Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 That is one wicked looking drill! That red landscape is very eye catching, maybe throw in some dark red areas to give it a little variation. Great work! Quote
Legonardo Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Thanks guys for all the nice comments! I'll try and get some pics of the suspension soon, if I can rebuild it just built up my army, 31 Astros and about the same for Aliens (for me that's a HUUUGE army) ~ I built something huge, 80x58 studs to be precise, but I don't have enough red for the base Quote
Legonardo Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 here is an attempt to show the suspension hope it helps! ~Legonardo~ Quote
jasbury Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Wow, awesome! I was always a fan of the mars mission sets Great work! Quote
