Palathadric Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Here is another MOC I made a bit more recently than the last, but still a while back. The pictures are not so good again, but hopefully, they aren't too bad. Front View: Side View: Back View: Castle: Entrance: Watch Tower: Crops, Etc: C&C is more than welcome. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Good for you for using old bricks and making do with the colors you had, red, yellow, white, and blue, to build the base. Its a neat design and I dig it. Quote

Its a neat design and I dig it. Thank you! I used pretty much every brick I own on this one. I used the colours I had the most of for the base, and the odd ones went inside for support. It still looks kind of odd though, but I don't know if I could have done much better as far as the base is concerned. Once I was finished with that there wasn't much left for the building itself. jFox Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Nice castle! I like the design of the entrance. Unless the invading army has some ladders or a way to get over the wall, that walk up to the gate is going to be deadly. If you're concerned about the colors I think it would be fairly easy to cover up. I think the hard part is building up the structure (which you've done already). Giving it a "paint job" with some green, brown, or gray plates shouldn't be too much work. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Cool castle! It really has the classic feel The base colors don't really bother me Quote

I have to say that it's probably not very available here, but it is a good point. Painting them all grey or brown, in varying shades, would be great for future castles and mountains. It's funny but green and brown, two of the most important colours to have are two of the colours that I have almost none of. Quote
KotZ Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Very cool! I love the classic feel of it, though I think you may want to dust your LEGO Quote

I didn't mean to actually use paint on them (although I suppose you could if you wanted). I just meant covering up your colorful base with some LEGO plates of the appropriate colors. The plates would be a thin layer of color on top of what you already have--like paint on a surface. Sorry for the confusion! Quote
Palathadric Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Perhaps I've been hanging around the customization area too much lately. Quote
Haplo Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Very nice. Great to see what someone can make with the the bricks he has. Buying new ones is easy, but to do this is somewhat more of a challenge. Quote
purpleparadox Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 EXCELLENT MOC! Great use of the white/red pieces. I have mostly red, yellow, and white, and you've inspired me to use them! Quote
Palathadric Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Very nice. Great to see what someone can make with the the bricks he has. Buying new ones is easy, but to do this is somewhat more of a challenge. Unfortunately, buying new bricks is not easy for me since there are no LEGO stores or shops selling LEGO anywhere close to me. I'm glad you like it though. EXCELLENT MOC! Great use of the white/red pieces. I have mostly red, yellow, and white, and you've inspired me to use them! I'm glad I've inspired you in some way. All the comments have also inspired me that even if I don't have the most fantastic pieces I can still do the best I can. Quote

Convert your photos to black & whiite/greyscale and it solves your problem as well. LOL Quote
