After the purchase of my Lego Technic 9391 Crawler Crane, I decided that it needed less hand-of-god-crank-functions.

So, that got me to thinking... :hmpf_bad:

Maybe I should try and Motorize it!!! :cry_happy:

Yes, I know it would not be the best asthetics-wise, but at least it would have some better functions...

So, without furthur adue, here are the pictures!

First, one of the model in general:

Next, lets take a look at the underside-motors for drive & steer of the treads

I also added in a swivel-lock for the turntable!

Next, we have the re-positioned winch, with a 8T friction gear. I also added a belt wheel for a better "crane look"

After that, lets view the battery box. I mounted it in the rear, for the best balance. I added some rear lights too. You can see my reflection in the Battery Box :shrug_oh_well:

We also have the raise and lower of the beam. It is a bit fast... :sceptic:

I also added a more realistic beam. :look:

Well, Thats all folks! Thank you so much for viewing!

ALSO, IF I GET ENOUGH REQUESTS FOR INSTRUCTIONS, I WILL MAKE THEM!!! :snicker:

It looks really thrown together, more like a bench test than an actual model. If you rearranged the motors, and used an external battery pack, it would do much good for the model.

Edited to be less critical.

Let's not bash the author, he's 13.

The old adage goes "If you've got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all'. That's a rule here - please be constructive, not just critical.

Hoolllddd on, I thought you had to be 18 to be a member, and that saying you weren't was going to get you banned. Anyway, i really could have been a lot more positive. and I'm going to edit my post accordingly.

I don't see how that's relevant. Leave staff issues to the staff, please. Thanks. :classic:

Why bring it up? He also told you not to mention your age...

Now that's a cool idea for such a compact crane...amazing what you can do with such a small area to work from and I like the boom height raise, its much better than the original model's is...I for one would like instructions whenever it gets a high enough feedback, but it seems the posts on this thread were going well into 3 or 4 replies, than it kind of crashed because somebody made a criticism to it and it went back and forth after it with a moderator and that person, too bad, its a great build in my estimation...like the moderator said if you've got nothing nice to say, don't post a reply...I say it's pretty amazing what you can do with a small model...

Thanks so much, this is what I like to hear as a builder. Unfortunately, I had a tear-apart fest and all of my creation are now in individual pieces.
