88high Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 (edited) Hello Evryone! Here, I present to you, my review of the Lego Technic 9391 Mini Crawler Crane. I just got it today at the Phoenix Lego Store First off, Lets start with a Google image for the 9391: Next, lets do some specs on the set: Date Released: January 2012 Set Number: #9391 Set name: "Mini Crawler Crane" Set Theme: Lego Technic Parts Count: 218 Pieces Lego Store Retail Price: $19.99USD (15.65 Euros) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now, Lets take a look at the box... The front The back, Sorry if it is ripped...I was in a hurry to open and get building!!! The Specs Now, Lets take a look at the contents! (The Mini Crawler Crane was already built) You can see, it came with two manuals, one to build the Mini Crawler Crane, the other, to build the Mini Tracked Bulldozer. Now, lets move on to the actual model (A-Model) Here are a few basic pictures of it: As you can see, it has a small beam that you can lift... As for the B-model, It is not as good as the A-model. I have already built it, and i forgot to take some pictures ___________________________________________________________________________ Next, lets go into some of the small details of the set! AAAWWW! a little cabine! So cute! The treads roll smoothly on any surface. Not too tight or too loose The small building beam that came with the set... just a lame prop... ___________________________________________________________________________ Okay! Now lets move onto the Mechanical Features First of all, the crane has a pivot point for the body, using the ALL NEW miniature Technic Turntable More close ups of that! Next, we have the boom raise and lower. It is hand cranked, and it uses a worm-gear-8-tooth gear system for strong, failsafe lifting. It actually moves a beam, which pushes or pulls on the large extening boom! Did I mention the LARGE range of motion??? After that, we have the extendable boom. The exendable boom has a click-lock mechanism on the inside, so the beam does not slide up or down without some decent force applied. Great design Lego! So, now that we are done with the functions, I would like tho show Y'all the new pieces introduced in this set! We have the Miniature Turntable The New-Style Technic Triangle (in Yellow) The 3L Pin with Center Pinhole (In Black) The Yellow Crane Arm ___________________________________________________________________________ Thank You so much for reading My review of the Lego Technic 9391 Miniature Crawler Crane! Let me know how I did for my first review in the comments! If you have any questions, Please ask< and Once again, Thanks for all of your support!! Edited May 20, 2012 by 88high Quote

DLuders Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 @ 88high: I can see all of your images fine -- thanks for your review. I don't yet own the Lego 9391 set, so I'm curious to see if it's a "good value" for the parts included. The reviews on Brickset were complimentary too. This Bricklink parts inventory says that this set has 66 of the 3873 "Technic, Link Tread" parts. The Bricklink Average Price for NEW links (sold in the last 6 months) are USD $0.21, so (66 x USD $0.21) = USD $13.86 for the links (about 70% of the total USD $19.99 price you paid for the entire set). I would say this is one of my few sets that is worth the money:) especially with the new parts Quote
DarkShadow73 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Curious and correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the yellow crane arm come in the 8270 Rough Terrain Crane from 1H2007 also? I don't have that one built right now, maybe this one is shorter than that arm was... Hello Evryone! Here, I present to you, my review of the Lego Technic 9391 Mini Crawler Crane. DLuders Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) @ TechnicFreak: Yes, the 57779 "Yellow Crane Arm Outside, New Wide with Pin Hole at Mid-Point" came with the 8270 Rough Terrain Crane set (per this Bricklink Parts Inventory). That part also came in these 13 sets (in yellow, and other various colors). Edited May 23, 2012 by DLuders Quote
