TheWarden Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I think this is your most ambitious and accurate single building project yet. Well done. The decals really help the accuracy here. The brickwork, the canopy, the equipment and the register area are all nice details as well. I hope you get compensated to your liking, but if not, it sounds like you are having fun. If you are allowed to talk about the commission process, I doubt I'm the only one that would be interested. Good luck! Unrelated, but have you considered sharing on Flickr groups? You would extend your AFOL community presence and I think you are definitely one of EB's most prolific builders. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Thanks for the comments 'Hoexbroe' and 'TheWarden', now I have the same details on ANZFOL for us Aussies....but silly me forgot to put the main creation on MOCpages. Now Flickr, yeah I'm at 175 photos and the warning has come up about upgrading....can't afford to do that really and I don't want to lose access to my photos ready for review writing. It was BOC noticing my old Aussie model on Cuusoo and Facebooking it on their own page.....then I receive a Facebook message "Could I build them a U.K. version.....and they'll buy it". I've taken a two day break from it so I don't go mad from it....spent a whole month living and breathing one thing ! The final detailing will be done this week, with a final mega photo shoot. Oh, finally.....yeah being paid, I'm getting back what it costs me to build....basically the materials and freight to U.K. only. Keep watching everyone for those final pieces to this. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Some almost final interior shots of the BOC Gas & Gear heading for the U.K. in the coming months. I still might have some additions to make in the next two weeks, I'll update shortly. Edited June 18, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 Quote from Facebook "We are ready to purchase the lego store - is it possible to add a few more 'things' in to the store to make it look fuller also make the back and side walls higher giving it more of a store look." Great BOC now want it bigger, I had a bad feeling about this.....oh, well more white bricks needed ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 They are wondering why this isn't finished.....they didn't give the okay to the expansion but I guess they want it.....so a fresh w-i-p and again waiting parts.....plus my New Mannum now must wait till this is finished. I'll update when I have finished the side windows and I hope also the rear wall too ! Keep watching ! Quote
michaelozzie Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Your a busy builder LT. It does improve the look with those higher walls though its really another great moc by you, well done champ Quote

Keep watching ! Quote

SheepEater Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Impressive. How much will they be paying you for the completed model? Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Impressive. How much will they be paying you for the completed model? Thanks for the comment 'SheepEater', at least 400 dollars AU plus freight.....that's the scary part....oh, also scary on how the hell I'm shipping this half a world away ! Any suggestions would be very welcome ! Quote
danim Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 may i suggest looking for a courier who can ship it for you may be cheaper than sending it post Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Thanks for the suggestion 'damin', I'm thinking of DHL but I need to know how big the box will be though......pity I couldn't get the Aussie arm of that huge company to help me ship it somehow but I'll finish the build first and then worry about it. danim Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) have a look at this website, finds the best courier at the cheapest price, it is what my mum uses to ship things from our shop and what I used when I sent a slot car model to australia Edited July 23, 2012 by danim Quote

Anyway, compare these two images and tell me how they match ? Sadly scaling is out of whack, but to relate to the real structure in scale vs. minifig scale I feel it's the best I can do right now ! I'm going to try and have that rear wall done today if work and parts allow it. Quote
LegofreakKO345 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 So this is why they are no updates in New Mannum. But I have to say, this is shop is going great! You will need to get some space to put this tough... Can't wait for more . Quote

Thanks 'LegofreakKO345', I'm still working on structures for the town.....a shed for the local tyre mechanic to work from is on the cards among other builds....oh, yeah roads too....but this topic is for my creation for cash....yep, BOC Gas U.K. division are buying this....well at least late week they were....no response from them via their Facebook page. I still have the rear wall to complete, gas hoses, extra tool sets, perhaps welding rod/reel boxes to be made yet....we'll see how the week pans out. Keep watching ! Quote
