lightningtiger Posted May 21, 2012 Author Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) A quick photo update, I must say sorry for the quality of my photography today. You can see the second gondola taking shape, with safety gear and brazing gas bottles on the bottom shelf. The black device next to the chop saw is a mag drill. Don't know what one is...... More tomorrow.....comments always welcome...keep watching ! Edited May 21, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) The door came today so...... Fresh interior shots.....trouble is some parts I need are again 3 weeks away ! More to come.....I have to start work on the flooring and side/rear walls. Keep watching ! Edit - I thought I would toss in an extra shot..... A rack with a few TIG welding wire packs. JopieK Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Looks very nice mr. LT ;) you will need a lot of LEGO and space to make a complete city on that level of detail (but it truly is minifig scale!). Quote

LT ;) you will need a lot of LEGO and space to make a complete city on that level of detail (but it truly is minifig scale!). Thanks for your comments 'JopieK', no this is not part of my normal builds.....it's for BOC Gas & Gear U.K. they contacted me though Facebook....yeah, they are paying me in the end for this piece of work. Keep watching more coming tomorrow. Quote
michaelozzie Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I really like the way this moc is coming along LT. Those gondolas are great and the front of the shop is superbly done  Quote

Those gondolas are great and the front of the shop is superbly done  Thanks 'michael' for your kind words, I seem to specialise in shop fittings in Lego....I have always like making shops and a like even when I was in my dark times (I built HO scale town buildings....MOC's that is but not in Lego....remember dark times I said ). Any suggestions feel free to say, any questions feel free to ask.....keep on watching ! Quote
gotoAndLego Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) Most excellent chop (circular) saw, and a great standardized shelving system Edited May 22, 2012 by gotoAndLego Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 Most excellent chop (circular) saw, and a great standardized shelving system Thanks 'gotoAndLego' for your kind words, I should say that the interior will be at least 48 stud deep plus the small trade counter area....so that's 40 studs by 48 studs - tiled and fitted out ! lightningtiger Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Money is getting tight again, so I'm trying my best with what little I have..... See a brazing rig up top ? Hat and helmet display. More to come....even though more slowly now due to cash flow problems. Edited May 23, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
AussieJimbo Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) You're doing a great job, LT. I'm enjoying watching it grow. Must be very exciting to be working on a commission like this. :classic: Edited May 23, 2012 by AussieJimbo Quote

I'm going to be working on the walls tomorrow. Edit - message came back.....it's all a go still, so it's full steam ahead ! Edited May 23, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 (edited) Ever so slowly this is coming together....though I've had to shorten the main gondola. Still more to come.....comments welcome as usual and keep on watching ! Edit - I have just updated what I did earlier today. Shop fittings are 90% done, only half the merchandise is done.....still along way to go ! Edited May 24, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote

lightningtiger Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 Interessting and huge project. You say that you have been "asked" to do this. Is this a commissioned MOC¿? Thanks for the comments 'Hoexbroe', BOC are willing to buy it off me once finished....which reminds me to send another message to them. Keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 (edited) Now the boots and power tools...... More to come ! Edit - extra shots....look carefully at the detailing. Edited May 25, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 I have been going along like a steam train with this, now I have been ordered to make it cost effective which means the side and end walls will be the height now that you can see in the photos. The floor will now be light bluey grey because that's what I mostly have, I'm a little down about this I was hoping to create something close to the real thing.....but orders are orders. So by Monday night, I'll have the side wall capped, rear wall and I hope the trade counter built. I'll keep everyone updated. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) I decided to finish the side wall and start on the floor. I hope the light bluey grey floor looks okay, plus note the extra construction on the side wall....change booth, well you gotta try on your overalls somewhere right ? I should have the flooring all done by late Monday afternoon, then starting on the rear wall/trade counter which I have knocked up on LDD already. Though I do need suggestions for gas welding hoses, fridge mechanic tools, etc., that BOC Gas & Gear stores sell in the U.K. ? Edit - no sense in a bump because I have no fresh photos.....anyway I might have to add another line of bricks to the side wall so the rear wall which must have signs on it will have the right height side to back. Keep watching. Edited May 26, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 (edited) Update time..... More still to come....keep watching ! EDIT - quick update..... EDIT No. 2 - computers are in ! Edited May 28, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote

Your work is as always amazing. ~LCM Thanks 'LCM' for those kind words, today sees the continuing work on the rear wall, plus finalising the merchandise....workwear packaged, gas hoses, first aid kits and fridge mechanic tool kits. More photos later today so keep watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) I promised new photos..... The rear wall is finished.... Now lets look at the front again.... Comments welcome.....more to come so keep on watching ! Edit - another angle.... BOC have now told me to skip the gas bottle bay and in some ways I'm happy about so the front is always on show. This is the real store...... Edited May 29, 2012 by lightningtiger Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 The difference is the mounting bases are finished, only a few finishing touches to go now..... Keep watching everyone for those last additions to this megaMOC ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It's great to see the original photos that inspired you ...are you planning to do a roof? Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 It's great to see the original photos that inspired you ...are you planning to do a roof? Thanks 'LT12V', er...no. BOC don't want to spend too much money so the walls you see is what they'll get. Now one female figure is done, but welding wire rack, hoses, workwear and fridge mechanic tool kits still to come....wait on spare cash to finish. I'm not sure how they will pay me yet being that I'm in Oz and they are in the U.K. ? (oh, well we'll work something out. ) Keep watching over the next few days for the final details. Quote
Hoexbroe Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 (edited) The MOC is GREAT! I especially love the photo where you see the cash registers from inside the shop-floor. (The first photo on top of this page) But I admit that I am hugely interessted in the negotions and transaction-details as well. -But I udnerstand if you cannot tell everyhting in public...
