Gooker1 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) order the bricks from bl and with the instruction to build the store. sorry for putting the ironman and the green hulk in the picture. How much did it cost you to go the BL route? Awesome little set. Too bad the stores that opened up in California all opened up last year!!! The Blue Brick Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 I just saw on Lego.com that the Peabody store will be opening on the 25-27. I was supposed to go to this opening to get this brilliant little set, but I had already booked my flight for vacation and took work off. That means after two months of patiently waiting, and finally hearing the opening of the store, I will no longer get the chance to go. I guess I'll need to go the Bricklink route. Quote
Vindicare Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Thanks for the review. It is nice seeing this set up close. It is a neat little set, but not something I would particularly care for standing in line for multiple hours for. It isn't something I care to collect, but I can understand people wanting a copy of it. There is a Lego store opening up about 3 hours from here, but I doubt I will make the drive down there when it happens, but I will definitely drive down there eventually to check everything out since I've never been to a Lego store before. The closest one to here is at the Mall of America (approximately 6-7 hour drive from here). Needless to say, I haven't made the trek. You really should go. My first trip to a LEGO store...in a word. Unbelievable. It was just so much fun. I felt like the kids who were running around the store around me. Looking and pointing at all the built display models, seeing all those sets and the PaB wall. Wow. I would go the BL route, but I'm a set collector, so I want the official, real deal set. I'm kind of surprised LEGO hasn't made a minifig sized store yet. It would obviously be an instant hit on this site. Some buying more than one. That would be the star of any City layout. Quote

Hopefully it'll make it, or Lego will deliver a great set shortly. Quote
HawkLord Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 That's a great review. Can't say that I'd be too interested in standing in line for hours for it. Or paying too much, either. I guess it if somehow fit in better with other sets, I might go for it. Quote
Wrinkledog Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 very cool. I was not sure about this set, but it has a good look... Cant wait for the Lego store to open near me later this year! Quote
Flare Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Great review, this set really does have a bunch of useful pieces But I doubt I'll ever get one, since no LEGO store will ever open out here in Israel Quote
Rufus Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Thanks for reviewing this, Jimbee! I like your solution to the transparent piece photography problem. I'd love to get my hands on one of these. Our most recent local LEGO store opening was Westfield Stratford where I queued and got.... a T-shirt. Quote
lowbike1 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 anybody know what the sets are for the stores opening this yr are? or are they the same? Quote
