dwarf-brik Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Yes! Now that I know what they look like, I am probably going to be buying a TON of Uruks, as those blades and shields are going to be perfect for outfitting my Troll warrior heavy warriors. Actually, the whole LOTR line will really be great for adding some variety to my castle collection. I am stoked.
Fives Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Does anyone else think we should be seeing a poster with Theoden, Eomer, Haldir and the Rohirim rider? I really hope so.
TheLegoDr Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Thanks Angeli for the really close up shots. That makes me want them even more! I think Pippin might be my favorite printing. That little scarf is so cute. But the printing on all of them look fantastic. The orcs and uruk are looking absolutely amazing right now. As many others, I plan on doing a little army building. I probably won't go overboard, but I will have a nice collection when it is said and done. Those minifigures just look too amazing not to have multiples. I think Lego hit this one on the nose!
JackJonespaw Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I'm still loving these, but Pippin's face is seriously creeping me out. I would have given him a face like Merry.
CMP Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Is the Uruk dark red for a reason? It looks fantastic, but is a bit inaccurate, much like Aragorn...
PhaTic Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 The figures are absolutely outstanding. I look forward to seeing pictures of the sets.
deskp Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) Is the Uruk dark red for a reason? It looks fantastic, but is a bit inaccurate, much like Aragorn... They uruks skin is quite redish. Edited January 31, 2012 by deskp
csiquet Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I just hope one thing: that they are not made in China. But that's too much to ask nowadays. Otherwise, I just have to say this : :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad: :cry_sad:
legolandia Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Man, I didn't really want to start collecting the Lego LotR minifigures as well but after seeing those pictures I have no choice but to follow my heart
Fives Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Is the Uruk dark red for a reason? It looks fantastic, but is a bit inaccurate, much like Aragorn... If anything, it is most accurate to have them dark red. The Uruks are more reddish in color than anything else. Also, as someone else mentioned about Pippin's face looking creepy, it looks the most accurate of all of them. They have captured the foolish Took side of him very well.
Brickadeer Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I just wondered...are there any creepier Lego minifigs than this Uruk hai and these Orcs?

Sorry, I guess I never really noticed the Uruks being red. I mostly see them as a dirty bluish gray in most scenes.
Bobskink Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 They all look great, a lot nicer than I expected, not so dark at all. Exept for Gandalf, he's missing character and the beard looks cheap.
Darth Yogi Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I the uruk-hai. This looks like its going to be an awesome wave.
Brickmamba Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hey it is really cool to finally see some pictures of the baddies, the accessories that come on the uruk look really good, will be interesting to see what he looks like under with the gear off, wraiths not too exciting, orcs look great and I like the two color variations and gollum the mold is about as good as it gets, I wonder which face we are going to get, the poster smirks and the catalog is growling, personally I prefer smirk, we shall see Gandalf still looks very average which is a pity because TLG have done so well with the rest of the characters
Darth Nihilus Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Well, those figs look pretty accurate. Compare the film goblin and the LEGO Moria Goblin:
JimBee Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Love all of the new figs! Well, except maybe Gollum. He just looks too specialized/<insert that tiresome argument> for me, although that seems to have become the norm over the past few years, especially with SW.
Omicron Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Those figs are just fantastic. Lego is not playing around with this theme. No sir. -Omi
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 (edited) I love the way the minfigs have turned out. You can tell LEGO put a lot of work into them as they are clearly top notch. Hopefully when we finally get better pictures of the sets, it's evident that LEGO put as much effort into the sets as they did with the minifigs. I'd really hate to be buying sets that aren't the same quality as the minifigs that come within them. Edited February 1, 2012 by Sir_Basil_Ashton
Gooker1 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 These figures and everything about this line is a huge win. I personally can't complain about this line as everything looks great. I'm just super excited and can't wait til June. Bring on the German & US Toy Fair to see close up shots of the sets! Uruk Hai = Love
Fives Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I was just thinking about the prelim pics we got a few months back, and I remember seeing an Uruk with no helmet or armour in the Uruk-hai Army set and on the box of Helm's Deep. I'm just wondering if this will be that Mordor Orc with hair that we have seen. A normal Orc at Helm's Deep would make no sense movie wise, but book wise, it is accurate. Does anyone think we will see that Orc hair mold with dark red ears for an unarmored Uruk?
