timslegos Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 I would agree, it looks great so far! Is it based of the 8109 flatbed truck? tim Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 You have right Timr, I mis something in this mod. the cement mixer have 8 wheels not 6 and is a mod off the 8109, but it's look soo far good anyway Quote
Rodeown Posted May 12, 2012 Author Posted May 12, 2012 I would agree, it looks great so far! Is it based of the 8109 flatbed truck? tim Ha ha never even realised how like the 8109 it was looking, i know some of the parts are from that set but you know what it might be an idea to copy that cab design and extend it to my wider wheel base as the 8109 is a really good looking truck cab, Thanks Tim that is a great idea. Edwin Korstanje Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 It's look great anyway i already said great moc Quote
timslegos Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Thanks Tim that is a great idea. Be original! I bet you could come up with a better looking cab anyway. Its not a MOC if part of it came from a set. tim Quote
TimH Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I like the red on yellow Will you be adding twin wheels to the rear axles? Quote

Its not a MOC if part of it came from a set. tim Hmmmm Tim you got me thinking about that and i decided to rebuild losing the red so that it does not look like the 8109 truck, I still want the yellow so i will now go yellow/black combination hopefully i can achieve what i want with the parts i have, here is another picture of my latest building, I know some people dont like posting about their creations till they have finished them but I personally think it is good to post your progress and recieve feedback so you get many opinions instead of just your own. It also gives other people an idea of your line of thought and idea developement. I like the red on yellow Will you be adding twin wheels to the rear axles? Sorry TimH no longer red on yellow (i liked it also) as to double rears, everything tells me i should do but i dot have enough wheels to do that and a trailer. it would not be a problem to fit double wheels and i am now considering buying 4 more because of your comment. Rodeown Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) well i had some more time building today and started a new cab design, it is similar to my first one but not I actually thought the Technical side of the design would be hardest but I am now finding the Asthetics is as big a challenge if not more so. Please leave comments on new design, compare to old one and let me know what you think please, I am always open to your suggestions. New design Old design Edited May 15, 2012 by Rodeown Quote
Lipko Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think the ladder thing should be red too. Maybe it's grey/metal on real trucks, but the ladder not having a definite, one-color sidebar doesn't look good in my opinion. Quote

Thank you for the comment, I am actually limited to the parts i have available, I dont have those pieces in red and certainly dont have any red axels ! Quote
GuiliuG Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Remove this 5.5 axle and it would be perfect :) Quote
Rodeown Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 just spent some time redoing the section above the grill to get it looking more like a DAF CF cab and added some panels just to give me inspiration, I will sit looking at it for hours now trying to decide what it needs. GuiliuG, yes it would look better you are right, only problem is it is structural atm, maybe need to rebuild that part again. still trying to get the cab looking similar to this DAF CF Quote
bb15080 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I think you loss the panels it makes the cab to high for it Quote
Rodeown Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 I think you loss the panels it makes the cab to high for it agree with you i do, already removed em, decided exactly the same thing. Quote
timslegos Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I definitely like the new cab better! An the front panels look way to big in scale. tim Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I would replace those yellow curved panels, the ones above the wheel arches with technic beams face down. Quote
