jedikermit Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 So I just made my first LDD, and posted it as part of my Muppets proposal on CUUSOO: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/11050 ...It's the Muppet Theater, and I'm trying to decide ways to sharpen it up. I just posted it this morning, and where my proposal is just now passing 500 votes, I'm trying to find ways to add to it. I figure if I can learn LDD better, that would be better than my craptastic hand-drawn sketches. Which are on that site too, and are pretty silly. But hey. Work with what you've got. If any of you have any suggestions or helpful criticisms or tips or just want a good laugh, check it out and let me know what you think. It is my first time. Be gentle. -ish. Quote
roamingstop Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 It would be easier if you deep linked to original (small) images here. From first impressions it is missing architectural elements around Waldorf balcony. The large brick wall is too strong statement. You could add some brick built chickens into the arches, which do conjour up the right image. Custom parts for the minifigs will not be possible, but the colouring gives enough information. Are there any generic stage props which are missing? Having the same band set does not help, so perhaps include some of fozzy jokes / items. Don't forget you are proposing a series so large piece counts don't matter. Compare the model to the fun house with Fatman and Dobin. Where is the trap door? Where are the play features? Quote
jedikermit Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Groovy, man! Thanks DLuders! It would be easier if you deep linked to original (small) images here. Thanks for all of the suggestions, Roaming...I'll give it some thought and see what else I can build into it. Hmmm... Quote
jedikermit Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 Updated my Muppet Theater this weekend--if I may say so, much better this time around. Thanks for the support and suggestions. Here's what's going on so far... So there's the stage with the arches in the center, and Statler and Waldorf's balcony box seats on the right. Underneath their balcony, facing the other direction, I've added the ticket and concessions booth for the theater; not necessarily show-accurate, but I like it. ...on the left of the stage is the backstage area, with Kermit's desk and some sandbags and lighting control panel; I've added an upstairs as seen on The Muppet Show, and put Miss Piggy's dressing room up there. From the rear it looks like this: ...there's still an empty space underneath her dressing room--I was going to have it be a small garage for Gonzo's motorcycle, or something like that. Not quite sure yet. Before I wrap it up, I'm going to finish a small kitchen set for the Swedish Chef that can be put on stage in place of the arches, and a Muppet Labs set for Bunsen and Beaker to blow stuff up. Still working on building some play features into the design, but the skeleton of what I'm working on is there. Any other suggestions? I'm liking LDD the more I use it. This is kinda fun. Quote
Superkalle Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Hi there Nice work To post in the LDD forum, you need to share the LXF-file. This is because the forum is mainly targeted against LDD as a tool and MOCs also need to be of general interest to other LDD builder. I'm moving to the Special Themes section. /Superkalle Quote
jedikermit Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 D'oh. Thank you. Sorry. I don't understand most of the things you said. So I'll just leave this...here. Quote
vriverajr3 Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Really good. Sorry if I missed it. But what are the play features? Quote
