Derfel Cadarn Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 The FOOL-TRON P.U.V The Fool-Tron race are known for being rather stupid, the laughing stock of the Galaxy and their latest creation is no exception to their rule. They have managed to produce a space vehicle that does absolutly nothing useful at all, and their extremly proud of it! With a mind of its own, no steering and prone to sometimes self-distruct, the aptly named P.U.V is another fine example of their foolishness. I have never built any Sci-Fi mocs before, this is my first attempt and I didn't really have a clue what I was doing. I didn't have any inspiration, I just decided to build and see what happens and this kind of just evolved! Still, it was great fun to build and I figured that my building skills will never evolve and improve if I just stick to one theme, so I plan to build more Sci-Fi and other themes from now on....as well as castle! Thanks for viewing DC Quote
______ Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Love it! Packed with details as usual! I can't wait to see some more space MOCs from you. Quote
-zenn Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Nice one! Lots of greebs going on, great design. love the base you made, like the look of all those round plates. Though I think the name doesn't do it justice. Quote
Faefrost Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 That is a fantastic looking sf vehicle! I love the level of detail and all of the greeblies. And "pointless"? Leave that gorgeous sucker posted for about a day and sf fans will not only come up with a function and backstory. They will also give you detailed technical info on what each and every greebly is, what it does, etc. it doesn't matter that you actually created it. They (we) will take charge and make it work. Just ask George Lucas. Welcome to the insane world of sci fi. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 That is a extermly cool giant tank rover thing! Wow, I just cant think of words To decribe it.For you first MOC, it turned out pretty dang good. Awsome job! Quote
Si-MOCs Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 You had to use 1x1 rounds ... even in syfy didn't you? You know LEGO makes other parts too right? On a serious note. This is really well done. A lot bigger than you described... but I'm a strong believe that a good builder is a good builder - period - doesn't matter the genre. So I hope you continue to try to branch out, not just in Sci-Fi but other themes as well. Is that Maersk blue I spot? I honestly don't have any real constructive comments ... it's a really solid build. (MAYBE hide that yellow rim you're using) Quote
Legostein Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Hello! A really amusing background story! The all-terrain vehicle matches perfectly in. Its design is an eyecatcher, too! The greeble details are fantastic, and that spine piece looks like it had been amde for that vehicle. Cheers, ~ Chris Quote

Is that Maersk blue I spot? I honestly don't have any real constructive comments ... it's a really solid build. (MAYBE hide that yellow rim you're using) Ahh you noticed the yellow rims! Yes they bug me too, but they were the only rims I had. I have a large Lego collection, but it's all full of castle parts and historic orientated, so it was a bugger finding parts to use for this. I'm going to have to start buying some space parts! Well the 1x1 rounds were added in as an after thought to make the terrain look different, as it looked kind of plain with just plates. That blue color is actually Sky Blue. It looks very similar to Maersk blue but it's lighter and harder to find, not many ever use it. This was more of a cartoon type build in someways, so I will try something of a more serious tone next time. Thanks all DC Quote
Tazmaniac Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Wow that's a great first Sci-fi build...It's a great build full stop. I'm really looking forward to seeing more Sci-fi from you.....I might have to do some more too. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 It looks great for a truck that's supposedly highly dangerous! I guess it's fools' gold! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
mephistopheles Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Once you reach max level you stop leveling. Quote
Gory51 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Brilliant work! I really love the rough terrain look, simple yet so effective, and yeah the yellow rim does stick out . However it is still Brilliant. Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Great job! The round plates do work well as terrain and the vehicle as very nice. I love the suspension you've made. Quote
