BearHeart Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 How about a prospector set. It could be called "Gold Rush" and would include a river baseplate and a prospecting camp set up around it. It would include a few prospector minifigs, equipment such as water troughs and carts and plenty of minifigs accesories such as pans, sieves, shovels etc... and how about some bandits hiding behind some rocks ready to rob the prospectors! WesternOutlaw Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 Just as Blackboot and Dice get comfortable in front of the bar, the doors to the cantina fly open by none other than Dusty Miller. This time, he is not too late. He walks toward the bar to see Blackboot staring at him as if the two men knew each other from long before. A nervous Dice draws his side arm. But Dusty is much faster pulling his his Colt from his gun belt! One shot is fired and Dice falls to the ground. Dusty puts his gun back into the holster watching Blackboot closely. The minutes seem like hours as the two men watch to see who will draw first... "I'm take'n you back dead or alive", Dusty warns. Blackboot responds, "not if I shoot you between your eyes BOY!" POW! Blackboot draws his gun faster than Dusty and fires! A bullet nicks Dusty's left shoulder. Dusty draws and fires. His bullet hits Blackboot's right boot. Blackboot falls to the ground in pain. Dusty walks over to Blackboot as the sound of his spurs clank against the wooden floor. Blackboot looks up at Dusty in fear. Dusty looks down at him and says, "if I was aim'n for your heart, you'd be a dead man. And don't you ever call be BOY again"! Dice is burried in Haciendo as a tied Blackboot Thomas rides off with Dusty toward Legorado. Two large sacks of money hang from the saddle. Back in Legorado, Dusty collects his reward at the Union fort. Union soldiers cheer as an embarrassed Sheriff McMillon shakes Dusty's hand. Dusty can't help to think, "Legorado is definately much more than a few buildings and a barren bunch of tan baseplates". "Thanks to all of you", he says with a smile. ;-) Quote
Athos Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Sounds like we'll be needin' a gallows for hangin' Blackboot... Steve Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 Oh, excellent. No one had mentioned. I've seen a MOC or two of them as well. Quote
canadianD Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 i think dusty should find his way to a ghost town (think about it the ultimate showdown between the phantom rider/ghost miner and dusty miller woulddusty prevail) i think lego- if they didn't want to do Wild West sets in general they could do 1800 era sets like not just in america either although knowing us (as in me since not everyones from the US here) it would be but like there could be a large eastern city from the 1800's, something that could be american civil war related would be a party in a lavish house thats celebrating the end of the civil war, tom sayer/huckleberry finn/davy crocket related, maybe abraham lincoln giving the gettysburg adress or what ever its called (i wasn't paying attenion in social studies), pioneers, wagon station, e.t.c Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 i think dusty should find his way to a ghost town (think about it the ultimate showdown between the phantom rider/ghost miner and dusty miller woulddusty prevail) An excellent idea! It's sometimes neat to see these old threads re-visited after a year or two. Dusty makes his way toward a desolate ghost town. The sounds of shutters slowly knocking against the buildings as a faint creaking of a rusty windmill sounds in the distance. An eerie breeze blows through the street. Up ahead is a sign that reads, "Grave Stone". What forsaken secrets hide within the shadows of this haunted place...?*skull* I love it! Quote

I guess your right though about getting a WW avatar since i'm sorta a pretty active member at least IMO. i can't believe it two days surrounding a weekend without "sean pay attenion the quiz is on friday" :-D an then i usually say "but we just had a quiz" an then they say "no that was a test now pay attenion" really whats the difference |-/ (i didn't mean to get to off topic sorry :-$ ) Edited February 10, 2008 by canadianD Quote
maiq the liar Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 (edited) What sort of wagons? Covered wagons / military? And what kind of obstacles? Covered Horse pulled wagons (NOT the conestoga wagons), with a Small river made of Trans plates, rocks, a collapsible Bridge with some dynamite that can be placed over said River, a bandit, Some Wild animals...and a small Canyon wall with another henchman, some more dynamite and a plate you can remove that drops some brown bricks and boulders. Brickadier General Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 You could expand on the Indian sub-theme with cliff dwellings and apaches. Camp scenes would also be good for the western cavalry. For transcontinental railroad worker scenes you could have some of the figs be the Chinese Coolies. Some of the parts from the "Orient Expedition" sets would make this feasible. Maybe make a John Henry fig too. Quote

Given the wide assortment of minifig heads that should be pretty easy. Lots of red-headed ones you could use. Quote

Some of the parts from the "Orient Expedition" sets would make this feasible. An excellent idea. I had thought of this a while back. I actually got the idea from reading something that Playmobil was going to produce many years ago and never did (to be politically correct). Here's a quote from Wikepedia: Over the years, some proposed sets have included Chinese Railroad Workers and a Grave Digger for the Western theme, as well as a Medieval Torture Room. Prototypes were made. However, these sets were considered insensitive and inappropriate for young children, and were never released. There are however sets including ghosts and a mummy containing a skeleton. A Grave Digger would also make a nice addition. Quote

If you check the 1st page of this thread, you'll see a list of the various ideas from various EB members. I think someone named Pony Express a while back. Still a good addition to any WW town. Quote
Batbrick Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I looked at the first page and saw "mine", but I'm not sure what kind of mine so I'll add my suggestion. I'd loved to see a mine cart playset, which would fit on regular train tracks and come with a lot of mining equipment and some gold pieces. It means we could get some great miner figs too. Batbrick Away! Quote

Definately a must for Wild West. I had listed "Expanded Mine" meaning a mine scene much more developed than the official Lego Mine. Something along the line of a Dwarf Mine, with mining carts, a few tunnels, traps, etc. I went ahead and listed your suggestion - definately a good one. Quote
