Since 8043 has gone out of stock until May 1, May 1 should be the day it comes back, on sale. Same thing happened to 8041. Is this a broad asumption or could it

be correct?

I'm looking at the USA region version of Shop.Lego.com's Technic theme webpage, and yes the 8043 Motorized Excavator is indeed "Out of stock; expected ship date 1 May 2012." The 8041 Race Truck is not even available anymore via the USA's Shop.Lego.com webstore. It went on sale a few months ago and it was a "Limited Edition" model (unlike the 8043). Nevertheless, I'm sure that they are available elsewhere without trying too hard. :classic:

Yeah, Lego clearanced out the 8041 for almost a week for $34.95 (U.S. Price)...

If the 8043 goes on a special sale to clear out old inventory, I would say that you have a 2 hour window to purchase them at nearly 50% off before they are entirely sold out... Flagship sales don't last very long...

It seems kind of odd to me that a set nearly 2 years old would be on back order... I think there are a couple Panels in that set that are not being produced anymore...

Yeah, I've got an 8041, but I'm planning to sell it NIB if anyone here is interested.

Oh no! I'll have to hurry! Or use TRU's BOGO 50% deal with the unimog I'm also buying soon.

@ Paul Boratko: Which panels on the 8043 are not produced anymore?

@ Porty: The fine print (under the LEGO logo on this Toys-R-Us webpage) says that the BOGO sale does not apply to Lego Technic. :hmpf:

"Buy 1 Get 1 50% off -- ALL LEGO Construction Sets & Board Games (excludes Star Wars, Super Heroes, Friends, Technic & Ninjago)".

Spoil sports. Isn't it always the way?! You get all excited about something then your eyes fix on something nagging in the small print!

better now then when you are at the store and paying full price

I was in TRU saturday and bought 9392 Quad bike for $28, and got 8067 Mini Mobile Crane for $14. So do you just mean online?

No TRU had a B1G1 50% last week included Technic, ended the 31st. I got a 8110 with intent to get 8043, but none in store so I got a second 8110 for 50%.

@ Porty: I think the checkout cashier at your Toys-R-Us goofed up!

No, there were signs with B1G1 50% off on the technic section and everywhere.*huh*

Dave, I was thinking of a wrong panel... I was thinking the set had these ones in yellow 64391.jpg64683.jpg these panels were only in yellow in the 7160 Dropship from 2010.. I don't think you can order them anymore... There are still a ton on bricklink though...
