SirSven7 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Hello All, I have tried to convert the Log Cabin into a medieval house and was wondering what you all thought and if anyone had tried it before, its not perfect but its great for those who are a little budget shy or not a fan of massive bricklink orders. . An Easy Medieval House let me now what you think Cheers all Quote
Bregir Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Lovely - I like the idea of using easily accessible combinations. Good work Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 The door has to be put in the house. You should put a tile floor in the house. It's a nice mod, otherwise! Quote
The_Cook Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Good work and nice use of a limited number of bricks/sets. My only criticism is that from a historic/architectural perspective the stone (grey bricks) would go at the bottom of the wall as foundations with the timber on top rather than the other way around which is what is sort of happening on front wall. However, I appreciate that your limited brick options might have precluded that. The lean-to makes it feel like a real workmans cottage and the interior rounds it off nicely. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Interesting....but it works. Nice job! Quote
SirSven7 Posted March 28, 2012 Author Posted March 28, 2012 Thanks everyone, like I said its not the best build ever but its a nice and easy way to make something that I have been yearning for. The all grey round the top has gone now (to be replaced with brown) but the set still looks a little stripy on the front. My whole aim was to make a house that could be easily purchased by anyone in a store, and i feel I have achieved that (though it by no means comes close to some of the masterpieces build here) I would advise anyone looking for a medieval house to consider the log cabin however. Cheers all Quote
smellsgood Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I like it! I might try something similar. Quote
Hive Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Cool idea, my first thoughts when seeing that log cabin released were also "I wonder if this could be modded into a medieval structure". Glad to see someone finally do it. Quote
LauraC Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Oooh I like! Speaking as a newbie who only has a couple of the cheaper sets (including the log cabin & blacksmiths!) it's great to see a nice build that you don't need a ton of bricks to build. If I had the knight and castle set i'd definitely be giving this a try! :D Quote
Odin's son Fred Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I've been looking at the Log Cabin to start adding some small houses to my collection. Now you are just making me want it more. Good job with the combinations. Quote
