Over the last few weeks I've been building a lot of microscale ships. Not technically a fleet (though 2 of the ones I've made so far are meant to be the same faction, so I will probably eventually make a fleet for them), more of a collection of assorted ships.

In the order I built them:

The UEN ships are both named after types of sharks. All of these are built roughly to a scale of 1 stud=4 meters.

Also if anyone is interested, here is one of the concept drawings I made before building (with real one on the right)

Oddly, I've never seen any of those, other than a few minutes of BSG. BSG and B5 are both ones I plan to watch though.

Awesome!

So many wonderful micros!

Impressive set you have there. I took me forever to build just one, I can't imagine 6 different ones!

Do you always draw out your designs?

I've never tried it, I'm more of an organic builder - I have a general idea in my head and it just flows... so it's always interesting to me to see how other builder's thought processes work.

Keep up the good work!

Both great shows.

This was the first time I've drawn anything before building, though somewhere I've got a stack of drawings I never made in LEGO from a year or so ago. I've got some more drawings of ships at this scale, which I will probably post once I get around to building them. Normally I don't draw like this much, but it seems to help with these ships more than, say, starfighters. Excluding drawing time, each one took about 45 minutes-2 hours to build and photograph.
