steelbus36 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Does ane know of a blister bubble that could be used for a minifig to make a custom package for a minifigure. I have an idea of soing a card back with an attached blister on the card containing a custom minifig. Any ideas on this would be much appreciated. Quote

Thanks for the info and I'm sorry but not familar with vaccum forming not to sound stupid but how would that be done? Quote
Sid Sidious Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Thanks for the info and I'm sorry but not familar with vaccum forming not to sound stupid but how would that be done? Essentially, a warm piece of plastic is pulled down over your form (in this case the minifigure). The air is sucked out from below, which pulls the plastic down over the form, holding the shape. You can make or borrow/rent a vacuum forming machine. I have done it with wax forms, and they melted very slightly from the heat. This might loosen the joints on the minifig, so you should probably use a pretty common, printless minifig you don't care about too much to make the blister packs and then transfer the good minifigs into them. If the minifigs you want to seal have accessories or large headpieces, you should put them on the common minifigs while forming the plastic. Quote
glenpinpat Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 vacuum pack machines can be bought at any place that sells kitchen stuff like a hardware store or walmart. As mentioned, place minifigure in plastic, and using machine it will suck air out and seal the top. At the grocery store many items in the deli counter esp. cheese will be vacuum packed. Quote
