rumpletump Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Does anybody know if the part files from any of the lego design programs can be made to be compatible with rhinoceros 3D or if there is a library of parts out there that will import into Rhino? i.e. dxf files I recently tried MLcad and I found the navigation around the model clumsy since I am so familiar with using rhinoceros 3d. Otherwise i will just need to spend more time and practice. Thanks Henry Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 LeoCAD can export its models in 3DS format, which I believe Rhino 3D can import. Quote

I tried a few parts and it seems to work fine.. Thanks for your help you have saved me lots of time. Now I can create my Rhino Library of parts. Henry Quote
Palathadric Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I think LeoCAD is the only one that can export files into a format other than LDR/L3B, from what I've seen anyway. I could be wrong. Quote

Palathadric Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 LDView can also export in 3DS and STL file formats. I always forget LDView for some reason. I don't know why. I guess because it's not actually an editor, but more of a viewer and exporter. Quote
