solta Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 This is a Ferrari ready for two minifigs to fit inside (parallel). Front of the vehicle is 5 studs wide but the rear is 6 studs wide. With mudguards that is 6 in front and 7 rear. Car is a convertible and the engine behind is visible partially (only 6 cylinders, 4 are covered). Rear wheelbase is 1 stud wider than the front. Vehicle is very close to the ground, like the real Ferrari. More pictures here: Ferrari Compared to the Porsche 911 (5 studs wide): Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Great work 'solta', the hardest thing to do in under 6 wide is sit two minifigs side by side...... , AWESOME....though my only complaint is the windscreen/steering wheel, but little you could do about that. But thanks for the ideas in your vehicles, I feel shortly a modern Aussie cop car might be in the works. Brick On Drive On ! Quote

The Ferrari has got a very nice silhouette. It is sleek and low, and it is red! But I am not so sure about the switch between 5 and 6 here. The 4w windscreen works very well with the Porsche but here it seems to narrow IMHO. I think if the car was 6w as a whole and if you choose the 6w screen it might look a little better. I guess other problems would result from this, as always. But it's just my point of view. Anyway, great work, and keep them cars comin' Quote
Brickmamba Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Not a bad looking Ferrari, I would rock it in my town Quote
solta Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Thanks for your replies. @EROL You are right. Maybem it would be really better to do a 6-wide from front to rear. And do a little bit lower nose. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Another sweet ride 'solta'! I don't know how I missed titles with words like "Ferrari". It looks like it's based off a 512 or a 308, but with a rounded front clip. What model was your inspiration? Keep those great cars coming Quote

Anyway, thanks for your nice words. Quote
sharky Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I like the car. Maybe you can get a Ferrari sticker sheet from an old Racer set and add the iconic prancing horse logo. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Beautiful MOC! The rear engine 6 studs wide is TOTALLY COOL! I love this car! Quote
