If you view this Flickr video, you can see the Lego figures "juggling" balls via an optical illusion machine known as a "Zoetrope". Lego Tron wrote that "The slits between plates act as a shutter creating an 8 frame animation. This Legotrope was displayed at BrickCon 2011 in Seattle." I attended that show, but missed seeing it -- perhaps Blakbird or dhc6twinotter remember it....

As a juggler, I can really appreciate the pattern created by this animation, it's a three ball cascade, the most basic technique of juggling three balls. Makes me wonder if one could create other patterns as well.

What an awesome machine!
