Over the space of last night and this morning, I have been working on a V22 Osprey Tiltrotor VTOL Aircraft. It's actually my fifth attempt at building one, and is the first one I am happy with. It's not a perfect model of it, and that was never the intention, it's more of a "What if Lego made one for it's City range?"

This is the link to my Flickr set (I'm not sure on actually placing images in the posts yet) :

Please leave your comments and suggestions as I always love a bit of feedback.

Cheers

Nice model, The Fezter! You seem to have captured the looks of the Osprey very well. I do have a few suggestions though:

1. If this model is for LEGO's City range, why is there a gun (?) up front? (If that is indeed a gun, perhaps this model might be better suited to one of LEGO's "military-ish" themes, such as Dino.)

2. I think the rotors would look better "sweeping" in opposite directions. (On one rotor, mount the long plates on the other side of the rotor plate. This LEGO set best illustrates what I mean by this concept, albeit with BIONICLE swords rather than plates.)

3. Does the landing gear retract? If not, you might want to consider making it do that.

4. If there's room for them, minifigure pilots would really be a great addition to this model. (In fact, they'd be required if this were a City model. Otherwise, it'd be a Creator model.)

Great job otherwise! :classic: Keep it up!

I like it. I've seen these close up at air shows, even toured the inside. Yours is a fairly good representation. You've got the bulge around the bottom, although I think yours may extend a bit too far forward. Also, I think your cockpit isn't quite sleek enough compared to the real thing. Also, the wings should probably be a bit higher, the real Osprey has a bit of a hump.

However, with all of that said, I think I like yours better than the real thing. The real thing is a bit of an ugly duck, but the proportions on yours seem to suit the craft better. Good job!

1. The black gun looking part is the refuelling arm for when the aircraft requires a mid-air refuel. Not all the Osprey models have it, I think the Army and Ranger ones are the only ones that have it.

3. The landing gear doesn't retract, and I was originally intending to do so, but i didn't want to take up space inside of the fuselage just because I wanted to put vehicles in it.

4.Yes, now you've mentioned it I realised that I completely missed them out.

The cockpit was always the problem area for me, and getting to this point took a while for me. Yes now you mention it the wings are quite low, I should probably chuck in a few plates to raise it more.

Thanks for the feedback guys
