My new creation, just and only build for speed . I started with this model after realizing that the tracks on my tracked jeep really took a lot of power, wheels would be so much better. So after ripping of the tracks and adding a new front axle with steering I tested the "thing" created, It worked :classic:. But, of course, it was hideous. This forced me to take the model apart and start all over again, leaving this buggy for you guys.

The model contains:

2 rechargeable battery boxes

2 RC motors

Full suspension

@jacobkristensen, The front axle steers with a return to center system.

@Sam42, the unimog wheels have a lot of grip, good for a driven axle but bad for a non driven steered one. For the front wheels I needed some big tires that don't have to much grip, since this would create resistance that would slow the buggy down. This leaves me with the old tires.

How is it possible to get 2 posts with one click?

That's a great buggy! It looks very fun to drive, and it jumps too! Amazing! I simply love it!

Could you please share, how long do the twin LiPo batteries last for driving the model?

Also what kind of Return-to-center steering did you use ?

regards,

legohead

I just love those hockey springs :classic: .

Battery lifetime:

it depends, usually its about half an hour to 45 min. witch isn't bad at all I think.

Ahhh I thought it could be something to do with grip, those foam tires are also nice and light!

Some rather special photo's of my dune buggy. The underground is created by broken ice wich I took out of the pond. Of course the buggy won't be able to cross such a surface, but I thought it would look nice.

Thanks for the info!

Great new photos! I love your idea about using ice as a foundation :)

Did you use a clutch-wheel for the steering, or did you connect the motor (PF-m i guess) directly to the hockey spring piece?

I'm not a fan of the latter, since stalling your motor isn't very healthy for it as far as i know ?

The sping piece is directly attachted to the m motor, I know stalling isn't very healty. But driving the buggy strait flat out is much more fun than making a corner .
