Minifig Lecturer Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 What are your wishes of city sets for the futur? :-) hi :-) here are some I think of. I'll add some more later :-) A hydro elctrical power plant with a dam. A drinks/cigarette dispencing machine A dump/recycling plant/incinerator for rubbish A water treatment plant A school/university A proper football stadium *wub* with terraces big enough for at least 1000 minifigs and floodlights (should be able/affordable to buy terraces in sections) Riot police with shields and batons, fans and hooligans A armoured car for transfering money to banks A Bank with lots of money and some gold bullion bars A Stock exchange with dealers A nuclear power plant. A TV station with studios A parliament buidling in European classic style with politicians A monument (e.g. a tall spire or arch) Grey baseplates with wider footpaths like in the 1980s A roundabout baseplate A motorway/freeway and bridges Trees and Flowers to be sold again A mountain/hill set Elephants, lions, TIGERS (Hobbes) :-D :-D A colosseum for Castles and Roman and Celts themes Trawler boats/ships Prison Apartment block with lifts Housing estate with a number of identical houses Drug smugglers, dealers, and drugs in general Brewery Oil Rig An Oil refinery Pub Tram Office blocks Business, for example food factories, accountancy firms, hair dressers A huge shopping centre with carpark, and products like milk, drinks, cereals etc A Newspaper printing company with Lego News Papers An automobile factory with production line A mental home for my mates Quote
xenologer Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 You forgot the most important thing. Minifig WOMEN! My town full of male construction workers and cops is seriously starting to get desparate... Just the other day some of them opened a new bar called 'Cowboy's' 'nuff said. :-D Seriously, if they work minifig women back into the picture, then the normal houses, stores, and cafes will naturally follow. UltraPrime Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 All I want are a few 'normal' town buildings like you used to be able to get, like the snack bar, bank or post office. A bus station would be nice too. Quote

For a long time I've been thinking that nowadays with these new and better peices all our ambulences and police helis are so much better, imagine what it would be like if they made new cafe's and such, but 2007 is looking very promising, a cement mixer, garbage truck, but best of all A SEA PORT! *wub* I hope things continue going in this direction. Hobbes Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I was thinking of modular houses, city houses and "town homes". Those could be based on the houses in the "Main Street" set: One "base set" with a small baseplate, the house, and seperable roof. Then an "additional floor set", a house that consists only of one floor without a roof. You can take off the roof of the base set, put the floor set on top of it and close the house again with the roof. So you can stack your house as high as you want. That "system" in different colors, maybe two or three different styles so it's not too boring, and you can mix and match your city. With seperately available sticker sheets (supermarket, coffee shop, grocery, bank, etc.) one could turn those houses into "commercial facilities". The same "system" could be used for town homes (small houses like 4886). As for "other stuff": * oil rig * a more decent hospital (we got a second firestation, why not a real hospital?) * female minifigs * a new train station ;-) * a baseball stadium and teams (US market - hello?! That'd be a decent sports set) * more rolling stock for trains (the waggons of 7898 would be perfect) * Zoo (Duplo anyone?!) * Farm (Duplo anyone?!) * Marina with a sailboat, not just motor boats * most of what Calvin said ;-) Quote

BUT..... it's an incredible idea for web-exclusive sets. I know you could just use LEGO Factory, but wouldn't it be so much more satisfying to brows pre-built sets on the web site! Quote
Robiwan Posted October 23, 2006 Author Posted October 23, 2006 * a more decent hospital (we got a second firestation, why not a real hospital?) Yes that is what we need. I have also the new, but I hated! Its so a construktion mistake. No hospital in the whole world has the operation room in the highest floor. :-( And normal living houses and shops that is very importent Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 We also need a tuna fish mongers shop for Hobbes :-D Also, if we are thinking in the Lego corp mindset about markets and boring stuff etc perhaps they should make some uniquely chinese things as soon china will be world's biggest middle-class market You forgot the most important thing.Minifig WOMEN! Send your guys to my town. I've loads of women :-$ Quote
alex54 Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I wish a car line. I meen a garage for reparation, and a parc cars with 2 floors, like in the 80's *wub* Those sets were so great, and with a modern look, I know that there are some potential... And some street section like Maint Street will be really nice... But maybe one day... Quote

JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) I want what I see when a person walks out their door in a town lol. Off the top of my head, I wish Lego would get creative and make their own (original) restaurant. You know, a fast food joint like EVERY town with businesses has. You got some nice ideas there too, Calvin. I wonder what piece would work as a riot police shield, since they'd NEVER make that. :-D And most importantly... electrical, 9V lighting. Lighting... serious lighting is LONG overdue in Legoland. I remember looking at my brother's catalog thingie back in the late 70's / early 80's... the minifigs ran around town all day, then went to sleep at night, with their homes lit up inside. Imagine my dismay 20 years later to find they didn't even make that... short of getting an old 9V light brick from a train set and adding a 6 AA battery holder. >__< Edited October 25, 2006 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote
Hobbes Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 - streetbaseplats white parking lots That's a great idea. With the current car size, however, I think a regular size "parking lot plate" wouldn't fit that many cars. Nice idea, though :-) Quote
xenologer Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I wonder what piece would work as a riot police shield, since they'd NEVER make that. :-D Maybe one of the KnightsKingdom shields? be nice if they came in transparent.... Maybe two of these motorcycle windscreens? attached end to end to one of these as a handle Quote
