TheKingOfBuilding Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) Hello and today I thought i'd share my minifigure scale Volkswagen Splitscreen Camper Van, basicly a sized-down version of 10220 Volkswagen Camper Van. It comes complete with an interior and can seat four minifigs. Here are some alternative views: Here you can (just about) see the compact interior with tiled floor, a sink, a hob and a little table. I found the interior was one of the most fun parts of the camper van to build, because of the size and space limits. You can also get and idea of the length and width of the Camper, and the numerous little details on it. I hoped you liked my minifig scale VW Camper, and as with all of my models, you can view the photos in higher resolution in my flickr set. Look out for more minifig scale cars from me as they will be on Eurobricks very soon, and all comments and suggestions for improvement are more than welcome! Locutis Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Wow, that's really nice! I think you've captured the large model in minifig scale very well. Locutis Quote
cimddwc Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Well done! Though the front looks a bit odd with the white part being behind the red part. Quote
BrickBox Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Very nicely done, lots of interesting building techniques. Interiour is very detailed, too, I like it very much! But I agree witch cimddwc, the front should be convex instead of concave. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 That is a beautiful camper van. Incredible that you made this on minifig scale. Quote
HighFlyer Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 AWESOME VW Camper Van, especially on this scale! Quote
TheKingOfBuilding Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Thanks for all of the great comments everyone! But I agree witch cimddwc, the front should be convex instead of concave. I suppose you are right, its just I wanted to get the white stripe down the front of camper and just used the first technique that came to my mind. Thinking about it, I could use the same stripe technique as the one on my Bugatti Veyron. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) This is a great follow up to your Bugatti. The fact that it has an interior is just gravy. Did you try using the 2x2 inverted corner bricks at the back in place of the 1x2 inverted slopes? Edited February 18, 2012 by gotoAndLego Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Sweet looking VW van 'TheKingOfBuilding'. Great front detailing too ! Brick On Drive On ! Quote
alois Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 The logo now says Mercedes instead of VW I like the tilted windows on the side very much, even the large version didn't manage to reproduce that. Quote
Oran Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 (edited) Great job! Edited February 18, 2012 by Oran Quote
MetroiD Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Great job! You've utilized the 7-wide scale just about perfectly, I really adore the interior! Quote
slovakiasteph Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I like this better than the full-size one. Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Beautiful, man. I love that interior! Quote
Brickmamba Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Very nice, if you can get some curves in the front somehow, then it would be perfect Quote
