Xyver Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 With the amount of firemen employed in Naiaville it required an upgrade to the fire station. A bigger, modern building was built to accomodate everyone and provide them with more facilities. Front - full shot Front Right - one of the firmen is taking a nap Left - full shot Back Stair training Vehicle bay - the sloped roof section is hinged to allow access to the vehicles Top floor - sleeping quarters and recreational area plus top of the spiral staircase and fireman's pole some men playing pool the only girl on the team proving she is as capable as the men top of the fire pole the first floor lifts off for access to the ground floor. I left an area around the stairs to make it sturdier a look at the arches between the two sides, with the first floor removed I need to order some more slide rails and sliding doors for the back and add some extra details on the ground floor, probably an office. They need a change room but not sure if there's room for that Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Not bad fire station 'Xyver', must be an old station that has been remodelled time and time again judging by the old timber doors on the right and modern roller doors on the left. Good job on this creation and you even included a fire training tower as well ! Brick On 'Xyver' ! Quote
HighFlyer Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Great fire station, I love the hinged sloping roof! I'm not sure about the big brown doors though, perhaps black would look better. Quote
BrickBox Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Nice work, the sloped roof is a very good idea and makes the building look quite interesting. You should expand it with additional garages in the future! Quote
gotoAndLego Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I like the sloped roof. My suggestion would be to raise the first floor roof a little and use slopes to join against the bottom of the sloped roof. Quote
Firebrickbuilder Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Great work on this station, love the slope roof and the facility's for the crews, Also personal option the roof slope would look better joining the left hand side outside wall. This would lead to more space above the bays for living space. Over all great design. Quote
TWO2SEVEN Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Good work! As others have said, the slanted roof looks great and is nice for adding play features. Quote
thun712 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Looks very good. I would use some less saturated colors whenever possible. It currently looks a little too red to me. The design is awesome though. As others have said, great job on that roof Quote
AirborneAFOL Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I dig it. Feel free to use this pool table design: image by airborneafol, on Flickr I'll probably use your (very cool) bench press for the Firehouse MOD I'm working on ;) Quote
Xyver Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 Wow, what a blast from the past. This was one of my first building MOCs and his slowly been demolished for the parts to be used in other things. I was very happy with the look of the sloped roof, so I am glad everyone liked it as well. I may have to rebuild this some time, and since my brick collection has grown considerably since those days, i will be able to use something other than red. Quote
CityBuilder Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Nice fire station, the sloped roof gives it a unique and modern look. Quote
