Poison Ivy Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) OOC: Whatever. But you still can't really tell me how Monk Pretzel would react. What if Monk Pretzel is a fragile old man that would fall over if somebody spat at him. What would your punch do? He certainly still wouldn't be standing and glaring at her. Also you can't tell the party that they were staring at her in surprise. I wouldn't be surprised if they had been expecting all along given how annoying Monk Pretzel has been lately, especially to you. What I mean to say is it is not Alisha hitting Monk Pretzel that disturbs me, but that you have already written how he has reacted so I cannot exactly change that without ruining what you already wrote. See now I don't really know how to react because I don't see Monk Pretzel standing and glaring at Alisha. That does not seem to be in his character. He would be more vocal and less facial, if you know what I mean. Anyway... OOC: As I said, Alisha has trouble seeing through stereotypes to what a person truly does. She saw Leo trying to make advances on her in the Hall, and that led to their duel. She sees Pretzel as someone who hates her, and thus she saw him glare at her. He didn't necessarily actually do anything other than look at her, but nonetheless that's what she saw him do. As long as he looks at her, none of my writing will be ruined. EDIT: Post in question edited. Palathadric, react to the punch as you will. Edited March 12, 2012 by Poison Ivy

It was a bit of a needless debate as I hadn't really thinking of a way for Monk Pretzel to respond since I wasn't expecting this to happen. However, maybe you putting in a bit of how Monk Pretzel responds is a good thing. Kind of like an actor being told that he needs to respond to a certain situation in a certain way, but otherwise, he is more or less, free to freelance, if you know what I mean. Just wondering though, how heavy was the punch. Was it a punch out of actual, genuine frustration and anger (in which case I would see no other way around Monk Pretzel getting KO'ed on the spot, or is it more of a way of putting him in his place? A lighter punch, but a promise of more to come, in other words

She could have simply tapped him lightly, and since he is an old man, he is KO'd on the spot, or she could have actually hit him hard enough to kill him, if he had been a bit more frail. I, personally, think that she was just throwing it in out of anger and frustration, as you said, and, since she's a Barbarian, it would have been a pretty heavy punch. As I said, though, that's mostly up to you, play it out any way you like.

I had not even heard my assailant approach me. I had made a step towards Alisha when suddenly a fist had struck me in the face. My shattered memory made mr unable to collect why I had stepped towards Alisha, but (OOC: knowing her however poorly he did) I was certain that it was to correct some sort of misgiving. Perhaps, no doubt her general brutality. Or, perhaps, her lack of modesty in public. Still partially out of my mind (OOC: as if he ever was in his mind. ) I scream out, "One of them is among us! One of them is among us." With a surprise burst of energy I tear away from the ground and off down the field swinging my cross violently narrowly missing the faces of several party members. Off down the rode I run until I am stopped by an old oak... Damn! And I thought that I had survived my first battle without getting knocked out...I suppose next time... OOC: Wow! Palathadric Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I groggily pick myself up from the ground. "It's all right! It's all right. The hero is fine. He is still with you be comforted in that knowledge." Worried that my quest members make think me worthless and a less than valuable part of their quest, therefore sending me packing, I quickly decide to, once again, show the power of God. "Dear God!" I beseech Him in what I assume is a "strong" voice, but actually comes out sounding surprisingly feeble. "Show your power once again to these my fellows. That they may know you!" Thankfully, to avoid more humiliation, my prayer is answer and Leo is restored to full health. I test the tonic that I bought from Cleric Wulf. Suddenly I feel a new power well up inside of me (OOC: This does happen, right? The tonics aren't fake, are they? I wouldn't be surprised if they are counterfeits, being so cheap and all! Capt.JohnPaul, please don't get any ideas. ). With the new strength inside of me, I say a new prayer for Flare and he too recovers his full health. So I heal Leo, down a tonic, and then heal Flare. Once I have finished displaying the power of the Divine, I suddenly panic. "We must away at once. There are a hell of a lot of raiders around this part and I suggest we leave while we can. We can split the loot later. "I'll keep charge of it until then."

TheBoyWonder Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Stop hitting each other. We are not here for petty infighting. We are here to make a difference to a corrupt, sadistic world. I've met drunks, murderers, lying scumbags and thieves who Will rob you blind. There are those who are evil like Lord Keveak. There are those that fight for what they believe in despite all the hate towards the species. We are that kind. We are heroes. Heroes would sacrifice themselves so they can change this godforsaken planet for the better. Now I don't know what your thinking about me right know. But I don't care. I have fought the darkness within me and came out into the light. I am Leo Aragon, Brobric Elf. I am a flawed person. But I have made a difference. Now, let's stop this childish squabble and slay some Undead Vikings.

Poison Ivy Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 OOC: Pretzel should have 6/6 HP, because 1 HP is gained per level, and all Clerics start with 5/5 HP. Also, because of Natural Respite, Alisha should have 11/11 HP. IC: Alisha appears to be recovering, but a small quaver is still remaining in her usually strong, angry tones. "Okay, we need to go to the Heavenly Meadow, right? Or maybe we've already been there......" OOC: We were heading to the Heavenly Meadow when the Raiders attacked, so shouldn't we be there now?

I always forget that barbarian's respite. Also, Benji and Leo have been healed my monk Pretzel. Are you sure you get healed when gaining a level? You already went to the Meadow. You went to the graveyard, to the meadow, back the the cemetery, and now you are back at town.

Are you sure you get healed when gaining a level? You already went to the Meadow. You went to the graveyard, to the meadow, back the the cemetery, and now you are back at town. OOC: Yes, that's how Sandy and other QMs do it, at least. Also, it does appear I was wrong, Pretzel should have 10 HP now, because Clerics do start with 9 HP, not 5 as I thought. I just looked it up in the rules. Okay then, I got this. IC: "So, since we've been to the Heavenly Meadow already, why don't we go to the Staugh Bridge? It's on the way to the largest area of sightings, so I think it's a pretty safe thing to do, considering where we are."
LEGOman273 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 *I whisper to the rest of the party, so that Cleric Wulf cannot hear* "I just recieved word from the Hall that a party's guide turned out to be the enemy that they had been sent to defeat. I'm not accusing; I'm just putting that out there."
Palathadric Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Okay, we need to go to the Heavenly Meadow, right? Or maybe we've already been there......" I grin sardonically at Alisha. "My dear Alisha, where exactly have you been for the last hour or so. Reminiscing on shiny golden arrows no doubt, eh?" *I whisper to the rest of the party, so that Cleric Wulf cannot hear* "I just recieved word from the Hall that a party's guide turned out to be the enemy that they had been sent to defeat. I'm not accusing; I'm just putting that out there." OOC: That would lead me to believe that he is good rather than bad, because it seems unlikely that there would be two quests happening, more or less, at once that both have a "bad guy" as the party guide, if you know what I mean. IC: "No, no! Don't tell me that. It's not true. He will kill us all when we least suspect. I will not be able to sleep this night!"

Poison Ivy Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I grin sardonically at Alisha. "My dear Alisha, where exactly have you been for the last hour or so. Reminiscing on shiny golden arrows no doubt, eh?" "Puking my guts out, and your guts might be coming out a slightly different way if you don't shut up. Same goes for Daxus. One more quip from either of you and you might find yourselves losing your stomachs for adventure."
Palathadric Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Stomach for adventure? Who needs a stomach for adventure? Senseless in my opinion. What will that stomach digest, may I ask? Adventure? Absurd! One need not stomach an adventure to participate in it. He needs only desire the bounty at the end of it. Do you really think I am enjoying myself trekking the hills and plains of this God-forsaken country? I should think not! I am here for one purpose, and one purpose only, to...actually, I had better not let you in on that secret. Where was I? Ah, yes...stomach indeed! You say I have no stomach, do you? Watch this!" I proceeded to open the trunk of my wheeled cart and dig through it before I finally produce several pretzels. I wolf 15 down in an instant. "Ah! Salty Heavens!" I sigh blissfully. "This, my dear Alisha, although in truth, you hardly more dear to me than the raider I just slew, is the way to live life." Thoroughly satisfied I turn and waddle on down the path. "Remember, it is impossible to stomach someething that can't be tasted or touched. Adventure is merely a means to an end and if that is your means to the end than I pity you immensely. Thank God I have chosen a differnt path. As I always say, if you have to stomach something, you may as well stomach something enjoyable, and not something distasteful, which evidently you have stomached this time around, that will make you vomit disgracefully in the sight of others, as you have proclaimed you will do. Manners, lady, manners..." I catch myself. "Manners, woman, manners..." It still doesn't sound right. I trail off. "Puking my guts out, and your guts might be coming out a slightly different way if you don't shut up. Honestly, I prefer the contents of my guts, anyway to come out of the normal digestive path rather than through the upper regions. As they say, "Let no guile or unseemliness proceed from my lips."
Flare Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "OK, the sword is given to Alisha, and the bomb is given to Daxus. Now we have 45 gold left to split..." I'm giving 13 gold each to me, Leo, and Pretzel. (13 * 3 = 39) And 6 gold to Daxus. "Sorry Alisha, but you already got the most valuable item "
Poison Ivy Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Yeah. Doesn't matter to me......." Alisha seems to be deep in thought, absentminded. She absently pulls a small, silver talisman in the shape of a dragon from beneath her robes. As she stares at it, polishing it with the edge of her cloak, her eyes glaze over, and her face falls. Without any provocation, she begins speaking. "By the time I got back home, they were already gone. My family...... my friends. Dead, all of them. The Trin were the ones that did it. Their marks were all over the bodies, written in blood on the walls. Blood is thicker than water......"
Palathadric Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 "Money, money, money!" I gasp excitedly as I pocket the treasure. "I'm rich!" Hearing Alisha rambling incessantly and catching only the last part of it, I turn to her, "Must you never accept defeat. I won the argument. It is my prize. Quit your incessant ramblings. If you think you can continue arguing than try me, but believe you me, switching the subject is no way to win an argument. And you really think blood is thicker than water, do you? You'd be surprised!"

I wolf 15 down in an instant. Is that in your inventory??? Anyways... Monk Pretzel eats 15 pretzels, but get a stomach ache and loses 2 health.
