Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) "Burying them is the only way to 'kill' them. If not buried, they will rise again." "I know. I know." *I lower my voice to whisper* "Speaking of that, I wonder how the Draugr was able to rise." "Do you think somebody opened the grave?" Edited March 4, 2012 by palathadric
LEGOman273 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Do you think somebody opened the grave?" "Yeah, I do. I don't know who, though. Perhaps Cleric Wulf?"
Flare Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 ...you first consult either Benji or myself and we will command you accordingly... *cough* Hmm? *cough* "What is this supposed to mean?" "I had a bad feeling about him from the start: I will be keeping a close eye on him for the rest of the quest." "Sshhh... not so loud... "Whom? Cleric Wulf?" Monk Pretzel whispers a bit too loudly. "I was led to trust him at first because he was a cleric, but I am uncertain now as to which god he serves, suddenly appearing next to us like that. Do you think he may be the undead Vikinig in disguise! Shocking! I mean just look at the odd way he designs his hair. Maybe his brother is the undead Draugr and he is the not yet undead one. OOC: It's darn fun jumping to conclusions. "Or maybe the color of his hair..." The cleric says, "Sorry, I don't have any tonics on me, we could restock at Thaick when we get back. But you should know about my brother. I went into The Order of Clerics, my brother wanted to pillage. He was great friends with Chief Canute and Captain Gnorf, the leaders of the other clans. But unfortunately, we didn't get along. So the other clans, allied with my brother, hated me too. Then my brother died, he was stabbed through the gut and burned during a sea battle. He was sailed back, and buried in this meadow. That's when all the other clans were getting ready to attack. But since I was a cleric, they were afraid that I had some magical powers, so they haven't mobilized yet. Does that satisfy your curiosity. We should go back to the cemetery, and bury those dead bodies before they rise again." "Did your brother happen to be a draugr?"
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Yeah, I do. I don't know who, though. Perhaps Cleric Wulf?" "I thought you'd say that. But in all honesty, I doubt it is him, although I am suspicious."
Poison Ivy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Did your brother happen to be a draugr?" " Draugrs aren't people, skaavda*. Draugrs are the risen spirits of ancestors or loved ones who still have something to do in this world, usually revenge on their killers. Not something people are born as." OOC: *Skaavda = idiot in Alisha's native language. Checked on the translator, as far as I can see, doesn't mean anything.
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 *cough* Hmm? *cough* "What is this supposed to mean?" "As spiritual head of our little group, it is important that I establish my authority." OOC: They call this guy: "sadnew". He looks more "holier than thou" to me.
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) "Why didn't we bury them right away, you ask? Because we don't know what grave they belonged in, and if we put them in the wrong grave... they would get even madder and kill us. Was my brother a draugr? Not that I know of. He was a human warrior, then died, and buried here. But now he's gone. I refuse to believe he is one... a draugr wants revenge, but nothing has happened to me. So unless we find more concrete evidence, I won't believe it." The heroes walk back to the cemetery. "Now we have to mach the descriptions of the ancient text to the skeletons themselves." Where will the heroes place the bodies? You recall the horrific sight of them charging out of the gate, and reread the text: QM Note: If you have trouble reading the text, I can translate it for you. Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Skinny Grave is the Mummy thing. Leo carefully lays the mummy in the grave. Nothing stirs or moans. 1/5 skeletons successfully buried!
Poison Ivy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) "Gold Grave is the soldier Draugr with the shield." EDIT: "Cross is the grey skeleton, Towering Tomb is the one with the big head, and Small Crypt is the skeleton with only the helmet." Edited March 4, 2012 by Poison Ivy
TheBoyWonder Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Small crypt is the home of the skeleton with just the helmet and spear.
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) "Gold Grave is the soldier Draugr with the shield." Alisha buries the skeleton with the large shield. Nothing comes back from the dead. 2/5 skeletons successfully buried! EDIT: Oh no!!! Everyone's posting at once. Everyone is correct. 5/5 skeletons successfully buried! Shall the heroes go back to town? Edited March 4, 2012 by Capt.JohnPaul
TheBoyWonder Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Well done Alisha, working out the rest of the tombs.
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) "Gold Grave is the soldier Draugr with the shield." EDIT: "Cross is the grey skeleton, Towering Tomb is the one with the big head, and Small Crypt is the skeleton with only the helmet." "This makes sense. I stand by it, but, cough, cough, I cannot help in the burying. I am too old and feeble." OOC: Wow! This came embarrasingly late. My internet connection was running so slow that by the time the reply page loaded you guys must have all posted. IC: I would not mind heading back, I think I have had enough adventures for now and have to be taking my nap and getting re-tanked. Edited March 4, 2012 by palathadric
Poison Ivy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Alisha begins heading back to town, not waiting for the party to discuss everything over when it didn't really matter. She did want some of those cheap potions, though.
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Alisha begins heading back to town, not waiting for the party to discuss everything over when it didn't really matter. She did want some of those cheap potions, though. OOC: Monk Pretzel could sell you the other one of his if you like. I need to get stocked up on those tonics. I think the potions are the same price as the ones available in the marketplace, but the tonics are cheaper here. IC: Tonics are cheaper here. Tonics are cheaper here, thought Monk Pretzel. Suddenly I am growing suspicious as to whether these tonics are real or not. OOC: Ooops! I had better not give Capt.JohnPaul any ideas.
Palathadric Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 "Off to the town we go, hey ho!" sang Monk Pretzel skipping gaily along the path, until his legs gave way beneath him. He took a rest and then shot up for a second go.

Palathadric Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) I attack the Raider A from the back row. "Sorry for suggesting that we go back, but I suppose it is better that we are here than that we are not, if we can help in some way to prevent those attacking the village. Just pray that this will not be our end." OOC: We have to kill off the Viking first. He has few hit points so he should be easy enough to kill, but if he goes on a killing spree than Alisha, Daxus and Monk Pretzel are all finished. It would probably be best for Benji to attack the North Warlord, Leo the Viking (actually this should probably be the other way around. In case the Warlord goes into a frenzy, it's probably better if Leo attacks him, since he has a shield and greater health, and Benji the Viking; and then Alisha the archer. It's probably good that Daxus and Monk Pretzel attack the raiders as they have the least defensive strength: Monk Pretzel and Daxus, that is. Maybe this was all very obvious. Still just a suggestion. But, hopefully, I am getting a better understanding of the battle situation. Once again, sorry about getting us into this. Edited March 6, 2012 by palathadric
TheBoyWonder Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Leo Aragon sees Clan Canute and the village on Fire. The Draken whispers to him an order. He obeys it. I attack North Warlord from the front row.
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) OOC: :wall: I have 18 Gold. 9 from my mug, and 9 as a drop from the last battle. Mug? The mug you performed didn't do anything since all the enemies were dead already, and you were one of the last people in the battle order. So did I miss out on some other mug? EDIT: Please be aware, though this effects none of you: all scrolls have only a 50% chance of success upon use. Ether is not spent if the effect spell fails. Edited March 6, 2012 by Capt.JohnPaul

Palathadric Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 OOC: Where are Poison Ivy and Flare? We need to get on with this battle. IC: Daxus, Leo, and Monk Pretzel (yeah, right! ) hold off the approaching band, as Alisha and Benji take their time drawing their weapons. "This is a lot easier than the actual fighting," Monk Pretzel says through a grin as he stands behind Leo and Daxus and thrusts his cross forward every once in a while in pretense of being eager for some action.
