Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 It is morning when you reach the meadow. Lying on the ground is the manuscript. Off to one side of the field, the ground seems disturbed. What next?
LEGOman273 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "You might want to check for traps, first." *I look around. I cut down some of the brush with my sword. I poke the ground around the manuscript and up in the tree with my sword. I also check the ground that has been disturbed. I keep my sword drawn.*
Poison Ivy Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Alisha quickly puts her last remaining Potion in the Hollow Blade of Draken's Ice, just in case. Then she marches over, shoves Leo and Daxus out of the way, muttering "Cowards" under her breath, and both cuts down the tree and grass and grabs the scroll.
Flare Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "WHOA! Guys... stop pushing each other out of the way and bossing each other around. We need some order here. Daxus, please continue to check for traps, then Alisha and Leo can take the scroll and read it."
Palathadric Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "Seriously, you guys are such babies! Well, I suppose, in comparison to me and my age. Can't you read a scroll without picking it up? Alisha and Leo, I am not the party leader, but I would say you two are much too disrespectful of those who have command over you. I suggest that before you do anything rash, you first consult either Benji or myself and we will command you accordingly. Daxus, you are young, but at least you are sensible, and I congratulate you on that." There comes a round of applause from the bushes. "It's the 'Hallenlujah chorus'," explains Monk Pretzel. "Why don't you just heal me before I beat you with my fist!?!?" Monk Pretzel begrudgingly heals Benji. He does not like fists. Benji had seemed like a nice fellow up until now. What had changed? "It is the evil influences of Leo and Alisha upon him," Monk Pretzel mused. "Oh, I guessed I missed a minor point somewhere along the journey. " "Take note, young man. Take note. Oh, and beware as well!"
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 The manuscript says: "All of these were written by poets, scholars, prophets, and that sort of thing. We can use the descriptions to put the skeletons back in the right place." You check the disturbed ground. "Oh no..." says Cleric Wulf, "It's a grave, and the body is missing. No, no, no... let me let you in on some family history real fast, my brother, a mighty warrior, was buried here." He gives the heroes a worried look...
Palathadric Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "A grave with a missing body, eh? Do we have any reason to doubt the integrity of your missing brother's body? Oh sorry, make that your body's missing brother? Oh, wrong again. Your missing body's brother? Ahck! Your brother's missing body? Or more precisely, was your brother of questionable integrity which would cause his body to go missing after it was buried?" Monk Pretzel interrogated him, somewhat unfeelingly. "Where the devil did you come from anyway. Were you here with us all along? If so, why didn't you aid us in our fights?"

Palathadric Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 "I had a bad feeling about him from the start: I will be keeping a close eye on him for the rest of the quest." "Whom? Cleric Wulf?" Monk Pretzel whispers a bit too loudly. "I was led to trust him at first because he was a cleric, but I am uncertain now as to which god he serves, suddenly appearing next to us like that. Do you think he may be the undead Vikinig in disguise! Shocking! I mean just look at the odd way he designs his hair. Maybe his brother is the undead Draugr and he is the not yet undead one. OOC: It's darn fun jumping to conclusions.

OOC: BTW, this is not just role-playing; I really did get a bad feeling about this character. Edited March 3, 2012 by LEGOman273
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Hey, fellow cleric," said the Monk growing suddenly very amiable towards Cleric Wulf. "Do you happen to have any of those ultra-cheap tonics on you. I would like to purchase another." He turned back towards Daxus and whispered, "If we're going to take him down later we may as well try to make the most out of it."

I could do with a few."
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Good idea" "Cleric Wulf, do you have any Potions left? I could do with a few." You can buy them off of me, if you want. If he has the tonics available I will sell my potions to you for cheaper than he does. I don't need the potions if I have tonics...well, maybe one. OOC: Just to remind our QM: Monk Pretzel healed Alisha, Benji, and himself with his ether since the battle ended. Therefore, bringing his ether down to 1/5. Just so that you know.

Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Suddenly, and quite out of the blue, or rather green, Monk Pretzel said, "I never touched your hat. I never even thought of it. I never even looked at it. Why would I want to?" He sounded defensive.

Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 The cleric says, "Sorry, I don't have any tonics on me, we could restock at Thaick when we get back. But you should know about my brother. I went into The Order of Clerics, my brother wanted to pillage. He was great friends with Chief Canute and Captain Gnorf, the leaders of the other clans. But unfortunately, we didn't get along. So the other clans, allied with my brother, hated me too. Then my brother died, he was stabbed through the gut and burned during a sea battle. He was sailed back, and buried in this meadow. That's when all the other clans were getting ready to attack. But since I was a cleric, they were afraid that I had some magical powers, so they haven't mobilized yet. Does that satisfy your curiosity. We should go back to the cemetery, and bury those dead bodies before they rise again."
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Those names are familar, one of the first band that attacked us had "Gnorf" written on a little name tag on his shirt for all to see. Practical, you know. That way, whether friend or foe, you can know who he is. Maybe I will try it out. So, he was a bad man, eh? Seems common in these parts, no direct offence meant. Please don't tell me we are actually going to have to go back and bury those undead creatures!"
Capt.JohnPaul Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Please don't tell me we are actually going to have to go back and bury those undead creatures!" "We have to. Unless you want an entire cemetery of dead things coming after you."
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 None of the dead have actually awoken yet, to your knowledge, have they? Maybe we could send some janitors from the village to do the work. Makes sense, no?

Makes sense, no? "I wouldn't trust anyone else to do something like this. Let's go back and bury those undead before they wake up." "Also, if they have, janitors wouldn't be able to fight them off." *I turn around and start walking back*
Palathadric Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I hang my head in disappointment and follow suite. "Maybe it's more of a 'revenge' thing then, but I don't think they deserve a burying. I guess there's not too much we can do about it though. Why didn't we just bury them right away?"

If not buried, they will rise again." *I lower my voice to whisper* "Speaking of that, I wonder how the Draugr was able to rise."
