BrickBox Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Well done Myko, looking at this scene really makes me feel sad. This is the first MOC I've seen which approaches the matter of life and death in such a serious way. Not sure about the yellow courtains, though. They don't work well with the tan walls imo. How about dark green instead? Green is also the color of hope... Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Excellent vignette 'Myko', with feeling as well....sadly we will go through the same event one day. Brick On. Quote
Myko Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 Not sure about the yellow courtains, though. They don't work well with the tan walls imo. How about dark green instead? Green is also the color of hope... You might be right, and that would've been a nice touch. Unfortunately I don't have the flag pieces in dark green, might be something for a future bricklink order. Also I wanted to convey a fairly low budget hospital where color coordination is not a top priority. Quote
HighFlyer Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Excellent vignette, you have captured the serious feel of a scene like this very well Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 That is a simple but very dramatic little scene. Quote
Orange Leader Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 I think it's great that you made such an subject with LEGO bricks without looking funny or unserious. Quote
Brickmamba Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Very tidy little vignette, the way you have portrayed the father under the blankets is very well done Quote
L@go Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 This is very well done. Although the curtains might work better in another colour, I like the simple way you made them - and the bed is a nice build. All in all, you've managed to capture this scene quite beautifully. Hat's off! Quote
Vindicare Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 This is a very powerful and moving little scene. Brought a little tear to my eye. I dread thinking about the day my dads day comes, were as close as two people can be. Great job! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Great moc! Very neat realization and perfect details ...the bed with the edge and the curtains are fabulous! Topic sad but inevitable ... excellent! Quote
snaillad Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 A neat and tidy MOC. The metal bed, the bare and cold walls. Sums up the sadness when you go into a hospital. A moving MOC, very well done! Quote
